We had the most patience person who dealt with 3 dresses that need alterations, thank you for your service.Went to pick the dresses up, 2 of the dresses were fine but not the third, many thanks to Ernie who alternated the third dress further on the same day. The client was much happier with the result. The only downside is the price of alternations which came to nearly £450 for all 3 dresses which was extortionate, we were told the alterations were a snip but it wasn’t the case.

I absolutely do not recommend David’s Bridal after shopping there with my bridesmaids for their dresses.During our first visit, the shop assistant was unhelpful and reluctant to check if dresses came in our colour. Even at this stage we considered trying a different store but as one of the bridesmaids found a dress there, we stuck with them for consistency. At our last visit, they failed to inform us that another bridesmaid’s dress was available in our choice colour in their US branches (if we knew this we could have arranged family/friends to buy and ship it). We therefore eventually compromised on the colour theme as there were no suitable alternative dresses.Worst of all, a bridesmaid settled on a dress and was very clear about the size she wanted. There was a prolonged debate with the shop assistant (all documented). The bridesmaid was told that it would be ordered in the requested size, but the sales assistant then completely disregarded this and ordered the dress in a different one. When the dress eventually arrived it was 3 sizes too big. We informed them of this and it was agreed that a new size could be express-ordered to arrive in time, but on follow up we were told by one of the managers named Laura that this would be impossible. The only other option was to have the original dress altered, but we were told by Laura that 2 sizes smaller is the maximum reduction possible. The bridesmaid accepted this as a compromise given the time pressure, and we requested that the company cover the costs of the alterations given this was solely their mistake and as compensation for the stress created. This was rejected. We therefore submitted a formal complaint only to then receive a call from Laura who offered a partial refund of 15% of the dress’ original price to “support the cost of the alterations”, while she also implied that the dress would have needed other alterations even if they had ordered the correct size so they should not have to pay (completely untrue). At this stage I discussed the situation with a family member who is a lawyer, who advised that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 Section 11, the company is obliged to provide us with what we agreed to at the time of purchase. They were therefore in breach of consumer protection laws and should be responsible for making things right through covering the alteration costs. Also, if they were unwilling to rectify this they could be sued to recover the costs of any repairs. The bridesmaid discussed the situation again with David’s Bridal and agreed to attend a fitting at their request (despite not living in London), for them to assess what alterations were needed. There, they stated many things were wrong and she was given a quote even higher than the original cost of the dress, plus the company refused to cover this, saying they were not obligated to do so. Furthermore, Laura then denied previous interactions with us, including me speaking to her in-person, and our attempt to re-order the dress in the correct size. At this stage we decided it was no longer worth the stress of having further contact with David’s Bridal and took the dress to the tailor who was doing my wedding dress alterations. She confirmed that the only alteration required for the bridesmaid’s dress would be to take it in, and charged a fraction of David’s Bridal’s quote. To say I am disappointed with David’s Bridal would be an understatement, and I truly wish we took our service elsewhere after our first experience. My conclusion is that they are a money-grabbing chain with no sense of accountability, that get by on their name and quantity of dresses rather than the quality of their customer service. If you are lucky to find what you need and require no further interaction with the company, you would probably be fine. But the moment there is an issue that needs resolving, they are obstructive, unhelpful and even legally questionable. I would never recommend this chain to future brides and would strongly advise looking at alternative companies for your bridal wear needs.

Really had a good experience at my bridal appointment. I was after a long sleeved wedding dress, there weren’t many but tried on a couple. Found a dress that I quite liked, looked better on than on the hanger, but will come back to store to purchase as I came on my own this occasion. Service was great and the store was beaut.

This was my first attempt for wedding dresses (bride).I was received by Francesca that started taking some measurements of my body and asked me to go around and see the type of dresses I like to try.She left me and my friend to have time to look and think but was at the same present and observing our preferences.I tried 3 dresses, I liked them. But nothing wow.Francesca brought me other dress that I did not see and said “this one will fit you well”.It was a Vera Wang, end of collection, last example, last size, last dress. When I looked at the mirror was love. The perfect dress and a bargain that was waiting for me in the shop and Francesca found it for me.She was absolutely amazing.Comprehensive, empathic, friendly. She was so excited as myself to find me a dress. I loved her.The service at David’s bridal was absolutely amazing. Very warm and friendly. I felt very welcomed and they have a huge variety of dresses for different budgets. And my budget was low and o found THE dress.Thank you from the bottom of my heart Francesca. Thank you David’s bridal.Adding the final outcome after a few months - the dress ended up costing 3x more with all the alterations. I was a bit surprised and disappointed because they were not very transparent about this. When I bought they said they would need to make a few alterations would cost around 150£. In the end it costed about 500£ - just the alterations. Be aware of that.

I have had two experiences with David's Bridal. One was in 2019 when I attended to choose my bridesmaid dress for my sisters wedding. When we were arrived we were greeted by a very helpful assistant who supported us in our choices and gave advice as we tried on dresses. It was a positive experience and it was a great way to try on different styles as they have lots of choice to choose from.Today was a completely different experience when I took my bridesmaids to try dresses on. I told the receptionist that I had arrived and then an assistant told us to look at dresses we liked. From that point onwards we were completely on our own with no help, advice or support. We took the dresses we liked to the changing room and tried them on, and I had to clip the dresses for my bridesmaids and assist them. We took turns in going out to get different dresses as no one was assisting us in any way possible and due to the closing of the store was told that what was on the rails was what was available and nothing more.

Visited here today to accompany my friend to try on a few dresses.Service was courteous from the start and efficient.Luca was the one who helped us and she was a real pleasure. She was polite, truthful, not pushy and had a good eye for detail. I highly recommend this store and in particular, Luca as the one to help you choose your dream dress.

Purchased 3 beautiful bridesmaids dresses. Unfortunately, it took three attempts to get 3 complete and satisfactory dresses. We had to return dresses on multiple occasions for pulls and stains that meant a lot of time was wasted. The company did pay for the returns and additional delivery with fairly good customer service. The poor quality of the initial dresses caused additional stress but thankfully we ordered with more than enough time to allow for rectification. They were lovely dresses in the end and I would encourage anyone who buys from there to check their dresses when they arrive! Would also be great if the staff could check the dresses when they arrive in store and before they are shipped out!The dresses ended up being perfect for our day but the stress to get to that point could've been avoided.

Booked an appointment and went to try on wedding dresses after a week. When I got there, there was an assistant Francesca waiting for us. She gave me about 10 mins to have a look and choose a couple dresses. I tried on 2 I chose and she chose 1 more for me which really suited me! She was very friendly, kind and accommodating! She understood what I wanted and recommended nice accessories to wear with the dresses. I was worried if nothing suited me, but she said they can alter and add clothes to the dresses to hide your weaknesses(?), so there is nothing to worry about the fit. I gained a lot of confidence and assurance after this session. Also, there is a wide range of price, so not to worry about price, either. I highly recommend booking an appointment at David's Bridal and try on dresses!
