Fen Drayton Lakes
Lovely place to go to either by cycling from St Ives Cambridgeshire.Via a bus on the busway to the request stop this a RSPB place, enjoy the hides and walks around the lakes, there are Bittern they are best early or late evening on the smaller lake towards stives from the stop ,very much a beautiful part of the country plenty of parking if going by car from Fendrayton, parking at stives park and ride is free. Maps are free in a small wooden box at the car parking area

Nice play for trail cycling, long walks or a picnic. The route is not marked however it has maps in some viewpoints. The Google maps doesn’t show the trail route but you can view it on satellite mode.

We dropped by at this place during our cycle ride along the guided bus route. They have several nice picnic tables, which we used to have lunch.

As a wildlife photographer I had a lovely walk round the Lakes and along the river Ouse. Take a drink as there is nowhere to buy anything. Worth a visit would recommend.

Amazing views when you walk around the river and lakes, I guess best times would be early morning or late afternoon, you can get some good photo shots

This is by far my favourite place to walk the dog. Different routes mix up the scenery and the Different distances mean you can walk ad little or far as you feel able

I fell on love with this place when I moved to Cambridgeshire. It's quiet, there a lots of trails around where you can just watch the wildlife. The guided busway runs through it so accessibility is brilliant. You can also park for free in many areas, you don't have to park in the car park. I'm often running up and down the cycle/pedestrian path. It's no North of England, but for the flat county...it's pretty nice indeed!

Walking there today was incredibly wet. So much extra water around and with the water table so high, most of it was still standing. Although it was walkable in places, it is unfair to judge the place on today's outingIn better weather it would, no doubt, be a fantastic place to visit. Wild life in abundance and great viewing areasPlease do visit it in better weather. The photos give you some idea of today's walk. We walked along side the guided bus route towards Cambridge so you can see how much standing water there was.
