After using Rosetta Stone for a while to try to learn Spanish I felt I needed more input.At the age of 52 I have been out of learning for many years so have the re-call and speed of learning of a goldfish! If I can do this, anyone can!I Googled for a local Spanish Tutor and found this website.I used the chat facility which was helpful and informative.From the initial communication via text and email Luis was very helpful in answering my questions, therefore I booked in with him.Luis is a first class teacher and is very patient and professional, with a professional set up at home too, very keen to help and I would HIGHLY recommend him to all. His rate is fair and reasonable.I look forward to progressing with his expert help and insight of all things Spanish both linguistically and culturally.Don't think twice or look elsewhere, he is superb.

I have been attending Luis for over 2 years now, including for my GCSE Spanish (in which he supported me to achieve a grade 9) and during my current A level studies. Recently, I applied for a place at Oxford to study Spanish and Portuguese and was told in January that I have been given a place. I can honestly say that Luis' support and help was fundamental to my journey, and his patience and attention to detail allowed me to immerse myself in the language.His native experience was invaluable to me during the interview process, and his lessons made preparation fun! Luis' way of teaching grammar centres around how you personally understand it, and this meant that I was able to go into my Oxford MLAT (the pre-interview exam) with confidence. However, the most useful thing about Luis' tutoring is having the 1-1 time to practise your speaking skills, something that in large class sizes at school is not normally a priority. This focus on speaking allowed me to access the higher grade bands of the exam, and helped me to develop my accent. Luis is first class at teaching Spanish to English speakers especially those resident in the UK. He is of course a native Spaniard but also speaks English with complete fluency which is very important to beginners. Not only is he able to teach the basics in grammar and vocabulary, but he can also teach colloquial Spanish in an understandable way. I have had classes with him for several years and he has helped me greatly to reach an advanced level.

After moving back from Spain with our children we were looking for a Spanish teacher who could help them not to forget their Spanish. How lucky to find Luis right here in Stone. Being native is a really big deal and Luis is such a professional in both his organisation and his teaching style and preparation. The boys enjoy their sessions as Luis mixes in games with other activities such as reading and writing.Luis understands how to get the most out of every student and tailors the lessons to each person. We will continue our lessons for as long as Luis continues to teach.

I have been attending Luis’ classes for 7 years now. With Luis, what you get is to practise useful, everyday and authentic Spanish with a native speaker. Luis encourages you to speak about anything and everything from past events to future hopes/dreams so that you get a good sense of all the various verb tenses and how they work and are able to build on your vocabulary from week to week. In addition, Luis is always very prompt to answer any question you might put to him by email or text. When I started with Luis, I had a limited understanding of Spanish and now I am able to interact with people wherever I go throughout the Spanish speaking world. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who is interested in raising the level of their Spanish, and in particular the level of their conversational language.
