My husband was pleased with the fishing and happy with what he caught. The accommodation was of a good size but the equipment was not up to the standards we are used to. Chipped plates and dishes, dirty spoons and serving spoon, baking tray had the remains of what looked like oven chips and the oven door was greasy. Mismatched glasses. The outside light wasn't working but was corrected. Considering the list of rules and regulations I expected a better standard.

Lovely stay for a week at Docklow Pools. Really pleased with the accommodation. A little constructive criticism would be to have a few essentials such as loo roll washing up liquid to get you started.Would happily go again.

As with any other time that we have been to Docklow pools, the food was amazing, the staff and owners make you feel really welcome. What Mike and Josie have created over the years is a fantastic fishery and place to stay. We found the accommodation met all our needs and was very comfortable. I will attach so photos of our latest visit. Personally I would highly recommend Docklow and also thank everyone for an amazing time.

We stopped off for brunch and very good it was. I had an ample portion of ham with two eggs and chips. My wife had baked potato with an absolute pile of prawns. Service was very good and the location was delightful. A great area for kids and lakes for fisherman.

Unfortunately docklows didn't live upto the expectation, its a 3 hour drive from where i live but felt like I'd driven backwards 4 decades. The place is tired, feels unkept and unloved, you kind of get the feeling your money isn't get put back into the business. The lakes are poorly maintained, some are un-fishable due to the whole lake coverd in lily's, or the pegs are over grown. The roads roumd the site have huge potholes and the carparks have sharp slate which you feel are going to slice your tires at any moment. The accommodation is adequate, but very tired, we didn't realise there should of been a welcome pack to explain things but wasn't one, also take everything with you, towels, maybe a mop, as the walk in show was impossible to use without the whole floor being soaked, no shower mats or anything. There was an A4 paper stating that if you use the gas and electricity more than what was necessary you'd be charged, we paid nearly £1000 for a week, what is classed as unnecessary? Also if you need to keep in touch with sick or vulnerable loved one's back home there is zero phone signal, or mobile data on site, you can piggyback" off the pub WiFi. The plus points are the tackle shop

Just got home on Saturday. Lovely surroundings and lakes. More importantly everyone involved in running it and the staff who work there were brilliant. And the food in the Fisherman’s Arms was superb. Me and my mate have all ready booked again.
