We have been with The Oaks for over 8 years with all three of our pets. We have 2 cats and a Cocker spaniel, and honestly I wouldn't trust anyone else with the care of our trio. Our cat Ginny was seriously injured years ago and they saved her life. Not only that but we had an abroad holiday at the time, and they helped us to look after her and had photos sent so we were reassured she was okay the whole time. She is now at the grumpy age of 8. Recently Rebecca has been supporting us with our cocker spaniel with an ear infections and recently being spayed. We were so anxious, but Rebecca and the team did an amazing job with a neat operation, loads of care and information and helped us to make the decision through sharing research and information that really helped us. I wouldn't trust them with anyone else and I've even recommended my family to use them too, and my sister also has her dog and cat registered with them.Niamh is now a fan of squeezy cheese!Nicki is also amazing, and between them and the whole team we know if we need any support then they are there to help.

Only had a couple of visits so nothing to complain about. They've been kind and compassionate to both my elderly dog and my new kitten. Helpful and reasonably priced. A breath of fresh air after my last vet!

Had a great experience with Oaks. Between the vet Rebecca and the nurses, they have done everything to make sure my cat is healthy. Rebecca is very thorough, knowledgeable and explained everything clearly. The nurses are kind, and take the time to answer all your questions and worries. They clearly all put the health of your pet first. Prices very reasonable - my appointments with the nurses were even free, which shocked me because they were so thorough and helpful! Receptionists helped sort out my pet insurance and are always friendly. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Really appreciated the very clear guidance that Rebecca gave us regarding our cat. We now have a clear plan of treatment due to her clarity and understanding of our situation. Thanks for your support.

You know that feeling you get when you see an extremely competent doctor and you suddenly feel at ease? Rebecca at Oaks gave me exactly that feeling when I took my kitten in. I just knew Moose was in safe hands. I learnt lots from Rebecca and will go back here whenever necessary.

A great practice. Rebecca is a wonderful rabbit vet and so knowledgeable. It's also easy to get an appointment and the reception staff are really good.

We are very happy with the care our dog has received over the years he has been attending for his yearly Vaccinations and have always been spoken to politely by all of the staff in the practice and on the phone. We had a diagnosis made last year by them of a condition (laryngeal paralysis) that would gradually deteriorate with time and it could affect Finns ability to maintain his own airway and an acute event could happen at any time.Finn was close to collapse on a walk due to his airway disease but on this occasion he managed to keep his airway patent but I rang the Vets first thing the next morning to express my concern. The receptionist recognised the importance of a prompt review&fitted Finn in that same day.He had a thorough examination&we were advised ultimately Finn needed surgery (off site )on his larynx as his condition had deteriorated but they would like do a blood test prior to a CXR before we made arrangements for surgery at the specialist centre.Unfortunately due to Finns characteristic excitable behaviour around new people he became overly excited at the appointment for his blood test and lead to his airway obstructing due to his laryngeal paralysis. This has been something we have been aware can happen at any time due to the nature of the disease and Finns airway had already temporarily closed off whilst on a walk. Because we hadn’t yet opted for surgery Finns airway was always at risk.Finn required urgent emergency care at the Vets and the treatment Finn received was faultless. The Vets&Nurses acted quickly to preserve Finns life. The team of Vets kept us informed of what was happening at all times they were kind and caring and were very empathetic. It was a distressing time as owners but the way the Team cared for us and Finn made it much less of a stressful experience.Rebecca was incredible and we could see how experienced and professional she is and has the very best interests of the animals in her care. Rebecca was calm and clear with the options we had and supported our decision making as owners.Rebecca saved Finns life by inserting an ET to maintain his airway and drove Finn under anaesthetic with 2 Nurses to The Willows for emergency surgery on his larynx. If Rebecca and the Team hadn’t have given this life saving treatment it is certain Finn would not be alive today.Post survey Finn has been back for check ups and the team have been friendly and welcoming, giving Finn fuss and have asked how his recovery was going on the phone. They are a passionate and lovely team and we are so grateful for everything they have done for Finn.

I have been using this vets since 2020 for my rabbits. In lockdown I couldn’t find a vet to operate on my bunnies due to everywhere being busy. Rebecca agreed to neuter my two bunnies if we used them in the future. Their were some complications in the surgery but overall went alright. Unfortunately, one of my rabbits broke his leg in 2021 so we took him back to oaks and Rebecca advised we had it amputated as the option of getting it repaired somewhere else would be expensive. This is would not have been the best option for my bunny and was convenient as if I didn’t use oaks the money would go elsewhere!! Recently at a routine appointment Rebecca stated ‘we have a problem’ she started to explain a problem he had with his ear due to being a lop rabbit. She then told us the only cause of treatment would be to operate on his ear leaving him with a hole that we could later clean. She was handling him quite ruffly to the point I thought he may be injured. She had no care for my rabbit. This is a very invasive and costly procedure so we were unsure. She gave us no other options and insisted we have it done so he doesn’t get an infection. We then went to seek two second opinions in which they assured us his ear is completely healthy and the cause of him scratching was due to skin mites and simply gave us a spot on treatment. I am appalled at the way Rebecca treated my bunny and unsure what she would’ve done to him if I had gone ahead with this procedure. I am disgusted that as a pet owner I put trust in this veterinary centre and I feel violated. I will NOT be returning here and would advise you not to either for your pets welfare. This is a money driven business with no morals.
