Lancaster Motorhomes & Caravans

We have recently had a really positive experience purchasing our first caravan. Sarah was so helpful and knowledgeable, and couldn't help us enough when we were picking it up and learning the ropes. We travelled a bit further afield, despite having local dealers as got a good feel for the company after our first visit and felt well looked after. Would definitely recommend. Editing my review to add how great the lady on reception was with my 2 young children too!

We were looking for a certain layout of Caravan and they had just what we wanted, so we visited to view it and as soon as we walked in we could feel that this was where we wanted to buy a caravan from, we spoke to Craig and he was professional helpful and went over and beyond to make sure we were more than happy. On the had over a few week later ( as we needed tow bar fitting) Stuart walked us through all the technical stuff to make sure we were confident with how things worked, this was so helpful for us as we were first timers, he even fitted a number plate for us and talked my hubby through connecting the van to the tow bar. All in all, an amazing service! and I would fully recommend buying from here. Thank you so much Craig and Stuart and the team at Lancaster motorhomes and caravans, we are very happy customers that are already enjoying chilling in our perfect caravan.

Buyers Beware!! Despite the bold claims on their website, Integrity and honesty are not top of Lancaster Motorhomes list of priorities. And it appears all of their vehicles are not stringently checked as promised. We learned this the hard way.HPI Any vehicle you’re thinking of buying. Apparently MOT mileage markers are not a big issue to them.Also, request to see any paperwork they claim they have before placing a deposit! Apparently 3 years of inhabitance checks class as extensive service history on a 8 yr old motorhome. According to the owner James Hall “people dont service Motorhomes”. I’m still trying to figure that lie out. I never got to see a copy of the Log Book despite asking numerous times, so who knows if that actually exists.Craig the friendly salesman will be your best mate, then will get highly offended when you call him out when you he has zero interest in helping you get your deposit back, after he’s tried to sell you a vehicle that isn’t as advertised….. but he didn’t advertise it though so it’s not his fault!! Honestly can’t decide if he’s in on the action or as downtrodden by the whole situation as he appears. Either way he plays a very good part.No reply from the completely spineless owner when asking for our deposit back due to them falsely advertising the vehicle. I honestly have no idea how “the powers that be” sleep at night taking peoples hard earned cash when they know a vehicle is not up to scratch or as advertised by them. I know I couldn’t screw people over the way they are and still have a clear enough conscience to go on with my day. but I suppose it takes all sorts.Don’t be fooled by the “professional” appearance. As it dosent last when they don’t get the rest of your money.I recommend reading all of the other bad reviews they’ve buried deep in the google sphere. Quite a few similar story’s to ours. Although according to Lancaster Motorhomes, they are all lies. Very telling that reviews are turned off on their Facebook page.Happy to back this review up with all of the paperwork I’ve sent off to trading standards.** Edit**Thankyou for your Reply Lancaster Motor Homes! The vehicle definitely was not HPI clear when we went to pay for it on the 8th June and there was also a mileage discrepancy on the DVLA website (I have date stamped copies of them both if you would like them) And the mileage difference was from 9,028 in 2021 miles, upto 162,906 in 2022 then back down to 10,119 in 2023 so not quite the mileage figures you gave in your reply.As explained to James at the time, if it was such an easy fix this should have been done before you even offered the vehicle for sale.So one of two things happened….1)The first you knew of this mileage marker was when I brought it up and you hadn’t fully checked and HPI’d the vehicle as claimed before offering it for sale.2) You were knowingly selling a vehicle that was not HPI Clear and had a mileage marker on it.Both scenarios completely contradict the claims that you are a professional company and all vehicles are stringently checked “beyond industry standard”.Lucky for us we did do the HPI check which made me dig deeper and threw up the lack of service history you held on a vehicle that was advertised as having “Extensive Service History” which you haven’t addressed in your reply.One of the 5 key points on your website that people looking to buy a motorhome look for is “Is the product as described in the advert without any issues” this vehicle certainly wasn’t as advertised.Don’t even get me started about the fact it was advertised as a 4 birth but the second bed didn’t even work when we came to look at it - I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt on that one but in hindsight that completely shatters your argument that your vehicles are stringently checked before sale and we should have cut and ran at that point.If you wish to discuss this further, you have my details.

Having purchased a caravan from the team and picked it up this month, the service was brilliant from start to finish. Craig was excellent and very knowledgeable and helped us through the whole process.Would recommend to any friend and family who are thinking of a new or used caravan!Although this is now only our second caravan we purchased, this is by far the best dealership we have visited.

Collected our new caravan today and couldn't be happier. We recieved first class service from Craig who is exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and nothing was too much trouble, he gave a thorough walk through of the caravan functions and we left the showroom feeling confident we could manage our first trip on our own.Can highly recommend Craig to you for excellent customer satisfaction.

Just purchased our first Caravan with Craig and team a number of weeks ago. Craig was very helpful in accommodating our needs for a long turnaround. When we arrived to pick up our Caravan, he walked us through the whole setup and user process with excellence, and gave us the confidence for happy holidays with our new toy. Nothing was too much trouble and we are very happy with our purchase.

First class service on buying my first motorhome.Rob was exceptionally helpfulAnd Steve the owner was nice enough to pick me up from train station.Went up and beyond to meet my requirements.

So just picked up our new motorhome. All the staff have been amazing. We had lots of questions about alarms etc before picking it up and they went out of their way to answer straight away or get back to us with answers. Rob was great when we came to look. Had a little problem with my Truma heater this morning in that it wouldnt fire up...called in on off chance of a bit of advice. Didnt expect too much as i made it clear i wouldnt be bringing to them to properly sort out...as ot happened a couple of guys came out to van and had a fiddle about.Heater came on....possible diagnosis sticky regulator. Going to limp home and sort BUT thanks for taking the time....you didnt have to...
