This is a hidden gem. Dinner menus are revealed on the day and booking has to be done in person or phoned during the open hours. Walk-ins are possible, but be prepared to be told to wait or even to go away and return. But, any wait is more than worthwhile. The owners are truly lovely, and their passion for food and drink shines throughout. The menu is tiny and you know its decided and sourced day to day. The options are all cleverly put together and utterly scrumptious. If you're in the area definitely make some effort to get in here, it's worth it.

We have just spent one night here. We received excellent hospitality from the moment we arrived. We were allowed to access our room early and the room had everything you would possibly need and was beautifully clean. We ate in the restaurant and the menu offered was varied. We chose the halibut and coming from the Midlands this was the freshest fish we had tasted in a long time. The breakfast was generous and lovely too. All in all we could not fault it and would definitely recommend.

We have just had a fantastic weekend at The Harnser! Our hosts, Rocco and Rubin (The Frenchies) and Alan and Ronan (Their humans) were brilliant and made my partner, myself and our little dog Molly feel so welcome. The room was clean and very comfortable, the bathroom was too. We had a superb evening meal on the second evening of our stay and we both had the Sea Bass Fillet which was cooked to perfection by Alan. The cooked breakfast we had both days was also very good and cooked brilliantly by Ronan. We will definitely be staying here again and can’t recommend it enough and an absolute must for dog lovers. Thanks boys and hope to see you soon!!

We had the most delicious dinner at the Harnser just after Christmas - two adults and two children. The menu changes each day and everything is cooked from scratch. I had probably the nicest vegetarian lasagne I have ever had and my friend had the lamb shanks, which she also praised highly. Wonderful wine selection and yummy bread and butter pudding. They were also accommodating to our slightly fussy children, who both got crispy baked potatoes and piles of cheese and ice-cream. Two very happy girls. The owners were really thoughtful about everything and I could not recommend it enough.

I've just had a fantastic 3 night stay at The Harnser. The hospitality is second to none; with both Ronan and Alan being excellent hosts, providing a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Alan's cooking is superb and the place is very dog friendly. We will be returning (again); and not only for the carrot cake

Absolutely superb place to stay, location is perfect for leisurely walks or travelling slightly further afield. Conveniently located in the village. The hosts are exceptional in both hospitality and cuisine making this one of the best places to stay on the North Norfolk coast.

I read online that it is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays but that is incorrect. It is closed on Tuesdays. The rest of the time the cafe is 11.00 -16.00. Food 12.00-15.00 and 19.00-22.00.If it is busy the food may take a while but is worth the wait. If you are lucky and they have swordfish in, I can definitely recommend it.If you are staying at the windmill there is an allyway that leads straight to the pub in one minute. At night take the torch from your room.

One of the most welcoming B&B’s I’ve ever used.We had a bedroom with separate private bathroom (one step away over the corridor - not an issue) which was clean and cozy.Great food - cooked breakfast and a selection of platters and pies for evening meals including the fish platter which I had two nights running.1.5km walk to the beach along a path through the marsh full of birds and wildlife, and some great walks to the local villages.Already thinking about when we can visit again.
