Excellent food and service. Best meal we had when holidaying in the area. All 4 of us chose something different and everyone was delighted with their meal. Well worth a journey but you will probably need to book.

My wife and I booked a Sunday lunch here en route to our holiday destination. We couldn't have chosen better! The location was great - very rural. The inside of the pub was tastefully and traditionally presented. The young girls who served us were excellent - friendly, attentive and helpful. The roast itself was very good - I'm not sure I've ever had so much beef on a plate! We had let the Crown know that it was my birthday, and the dessert came with a lighted candle! Nice touch and appreciated. If we were passing that way again we would very definitely return. Well done Team Crown.

Very close to where we were staying. Easy walk, great food and service, everyone very friendly and happy to help. Very dog friendly as well. Nice inside and nice to sit outside as well. Very relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend it if you can visit.

Called by for an arranged staff lunch with colleagues. Excellent ambience, lovely helpful staff, really nice interesting food in a pub clearly valued by locals and by lunch parties. Carpark. Nice setting, close to fabulous Abergavenny. Will certainly recommend and return.

Had a great meal at lunchtime, even though pub was very busy, they found us a table earned there might be a delay but food served very promptly. Food and service so good we went back for lunch the next day.

We had a meal here last night as a post wedding celebration.Firstly I'm glad I booked well in advance because the pub was very busy when we arrived. The atmosphere inside was lovely, we were greeted by more than one member of staff. The staff were all fantastic, young enthusiastic, very accommodating and punctual. The service was faultless as well as the food which surpassed expectation. I would not hesitate to return.Thank you x

Had a large group (11) for dinner, drinks and breakfast the next day. They were very accommodating, with well kept beer and friendly welcoming staff.Would definitely come back.

Booking a table here is like putting the key in the lock of door, behind which you just know that everything will be fine. The warm welcome, the warm interior, the superb food, the most amiable service, it's all there and, more importantly, it's ALWAYS there. This is not just a pub - this is The Crown, which is why booking is essential, as many others have found the secret behind that door.

Had Sunday lunch here today. The food was excellent, best I've had in a very long time! The service & staff there are wonderful & very accommodating. I can highly recommend the Crown. You will not be disappointed!

My wife and I went for an early dinner at the Crown at Pantygelli recently. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared a starter of salt and pepper calamari, which was beautifully presented and delicious. I then had the slow cooked beef cheek in red wine sauce which was sooo tender and flavourful, the red wine sauce was perfect and the celeriac puree was a delicious accompaniment. My wife had the chicken, mushroom & truffle pie with puff pastry, with tender pieces of chicken and tasty mushrooms in a creamy sauce. A lovely meal provided with excellent service. I can heartily recommend!
