Edinburgh Sash and Case

We needed 6 old single glazed timber sash and case windows of varying sizes replaced with double glazed units in our Victorian house including a complicated dormer. After having 3 home visits for quotes, we went with Edinburgh Sash & Case as their quote was competitive and they seemed to be genuinely passionate about windows. This was indeed the case and we were impressed by the level of service and quality of work from start to finish. The quote was very clear and thorough and all communication with them was straightforward. The joiner (Tom) and the painter (John) were both very skilled and did an excellent job. They were a pleasure to have in the house as we were working from home throughout. We’re very pleased with the end result and would highly recommend Edinburgh Sash & Case.

Update on attempt to get faulty units replaced -Avoid at all costs!!!We have several defective units - see pics for completely misted windows. The company refuse to send anyone out to discuss as they claim that our windows are not misted enough"I think it is reasonable to expect windows that are clear? That is what we thought we were paying for when we bought new windows at a considerable expense.We have been reasonable and trying to get this resolved for years but the lack of communication from the company is even worse than their windows.If I could leave zero stars I wouldOriginal Complaint -We had all of our windows replaced with new units and half of them have misted over. We have been trying to get the faulty units replaced since before Covid and we are still waiting. I cannot get through to anyone on the phone and our emails are not being answeredUpdate (8/8/22) - It has been 2 weeks since I left a phone message and no-one from the company has responded. We completed the contact from on website as instructed and despite being told that we would get a response in 48hrs

Edinburgh sash and case completed a first class replacement of our bow window. The bow window looks fantastic, and the team was really excellent. Ryan the joiner and Pavel the painter have been professional, efficient, on time, and lovely, and they kept me informed of what was happening at every step. Danielle answered immediately to all our queries and did all what she could to accommodate our needs. ES&C have been a real pleasure to work with.

We bought a property that has had its windows painted shut previously. Being in a conservation area there are lots of challenges with renovations within a certain standard. Danielle was extremely helpful, arranging fitting within a very short timescale due to our urgency which we are ever so grateful for. The advice and guidance from the team was priceless. Luke did all the joinery work and was simply exceptional. Very professional and respectful of the property and ourselves. We will need further work done and will definitely go back to Edinburgh Sash and Case.

We live in a listed tenement building - Edinburgh Sash and Case recently replaced all our old sash windows with sympathetic double glazing. The new windows fit properly and look fantastic. Chris the joiner was punctual, conscientious, diligent and friendly. At the end of each day he did an amazingly good job of tidying up the room he had been working in, which was much appreciated. The painters Gary and Stevie were equally professional and meticulous. Communicaton with the company was also excellent - Danielle always responds quickly to emails. We are delighted with the service and the finished product.

Edinburgh Sash and Case have a fantastic team, a great system and high quality product. Alan took great care getting the right specification for the type of window historically used in our tenement block. The windows surpassed our expectations - they are much finer than the double-glazed sash and case that we'd previously had. Innes did a superb job installing them with a minimum of fuss and a lot of care. Finally, Ken's painting was immaculate - a pleasure to watch.

Edinburgh Sash and Case did a wonderful job. Adam, the joiner, was very skilled and professional, keeping me informed at every stage of the work. His colleague Sean, who did the painting, was equally skilled, polite and friendly. The finished work is beautiful and I have no hesitation in recommending Edinburgh Sash and case.

Installation of ten double glazed windows to our home has recently been completed. The joinery work and fitting by Chris was exemplary. Gary and Stevie's painting was also excellent.Despite the enormous disruption and time taken, all contractors were kind and thoughtful while working in our home. We are therefore very happy to recommend Edinburgh Sash and Case.

We paid just under 4k a window, full payment prior to installation.We sent a whole series of snags to ESC and they are ignoring us.I have sent 5 chase e-mails. Nothing.We have drips on our stone from the window painters, timber not sanded or prepped prior to painting and painted poorly.These windows won’t last.There are gaps where the glass and timber meet, where and condensation just sits - somould is developing, and we need to get them grouted so they won’t rot.Naturally if they reply, we could revisit this review.

We had Edinburgh Sash and Case replace the majority of the windows in our house. I really could not fault the service supplied by joiners Jamie and Jordan, and Sean the painter. Excellent attention to detail, really high quality workmanship, and they were determined to ensure we were happy with the finish. They were polite and tidy - a pleasure to have in our house. Danielle in the office answered all of my daft questions politely and responded quickly.Getting windows replaced is not cheap but we thought Edinburgh Sash and Case provided excellent value for money.
