Heaton Park
Heaton Park is one of my most favourite places on the planet. The play equipment is great for all ages. I went with an 11 year old and 2 Yr old. Both were happy and playing about. There's plenty grass and trees for the kids and dogs to runaround. There's loos up in the pavilion next to the sambuccas (cheap family friendly italians). We always walk from heaton Park right through to Jesmond dene via pets Corner and another play park. The atmosphere is great and respectful. There are all sorts of people attend here from all walks of life but there always appears to be kindness and respect shown to others. We had the pleasure of finding 2 Elmer Elephants too. Also in pets corner there's a small Thomas the tank engine and coaches which will take you for a short ride around the park, however at £2 per person and then roughly £2 an ice cream the day can get expensive if you haven't brought a packed lunch. My only warning is if you are scared of dogs don't attend you'll see loads, if you are a dog person it's like a Disney movie.

It's a really great place, to have some rest from noise of living in the city. Park has it's own unique atmosphere and it's own pace.I've enjoyed my time here.Only problem is dog owners who allow their pets to destroy flowerbeds.

Heaton Park
A beautiful park with lots of great scenery and grass areas to sit and enjoy the sunshine and atmosphere of the area. My now ex partner lives nearby and introduced me to the area and although I likely won't be back to this park for a long time if ever I wanted to leave a review to let others know that if you want to take your partner out for a lovely day with snacks, nice places to sit and enjoy each others company, ice creams, good food and natural, enjoyable scenery. This park is brilliant for all of that.

Sadly I have had to edit my last review. Since urban green took over the park the whole area has gone downhill. The whole park including the old bowling green has been given over to wild flowers but they are not flowers just weeds the sort you pull out of your garden. Fallen tree's are just left to rot, nettles everywhere, the drain next to the well near the shoe tree has been blocked for month. There is nowhere for families to go picnic. It is really sad how the 2 parks and the Dean have been allowed to deteriorate over the year. Urban green only seam to be interested in Leazers and Exhibition Park.

Heaton Park
One of Newcastle's best parks. Lots of places to relax and play and walk dogs. Has a children's playground, a restaurant in the restored pavillion, and usually a coffee cart for snacks. Some quite steep climbs up out of the park towards the Byker direction.

Heaton Park
Beautiful location, large free area, has two playgrounds and connects with other parks, being a good route for jogging in green areas.

We love the refurbishment of the park now that the playground is built on a giant sandpit. Lots of land to run around on for kids.
