Good place as a base for touring the highlands. Basic but clean, comfortable and warm

Prison like and way too warm for my liking. The campus used to be a lot nicer too to have a small walk on, but the increase in buildings have ruined the atmosphere of the grounds.

Trying to construct a critique of my stay at the UHI halls of residence in Inverness.I realise that this should be conditioned by the fact that my £92 per night compares with say Premier Inn at easily 50% more for the same night. It has to be said however, that the stay fell short on a number of basic points. (In normal circumstances I would have brought them to Management attention but could not see any telephone number for contact and the office was too far, for me.)The issues were: no chair in room, no towels, no clothes hangers, no evidence of service to communal kitchen - floors unswept, stained couches, vomit stained windows. In my opinion basic hospitality issues which had been addressed in my experience of staying in halls of residence elsewhere.Inverness needs to bring their standards up.

Location is very good for students but no rules, no discipline! It looks like far west, no respect for other people into the campus and if you have any problems no actions are taken against who doesn’t respect it! Really upset how the accommodation is managed! Last year I had to argue 7 months before actions were taken (the guy above me, was kicked out the accommodation), every night noise until 2/3 AM! Completely unacceptable! It should be a place for students and not a party house! I was so desperate because that situation affected my studies and my mental health! Think twice before accept an offer because when you accept an offer you must stay there for the entire year (until the end of the contract)! One of the worst experience of my life! A real nightmare!

If you like rooms at 26°C and bathrooms at 30°C in the height of summer, heating fully on and bedrooms like saunas, with absolutely no regards to global warming, then stay here at a very expensive £70 a night (double the rate of most uni accommodation in the summer). If you like a cooler room, where they care about the environment and don't have heating on full blast when it's 20°C outside at the height of summer, stay elsewhere. It's a drive away from Inverness centre (4 miles), parking is limited (lots of contractors vans here when we stayed), no bins, no tea or coffee making (apart from typical uni kitchen facilities), no wardrobe hangers, no TV - you takes your chances. Security guard who checked us in was friendly and welcoming.

Basic accommodation but did the job! Kitchen hob was a bit useless but oven worked fine. Lovely staff at reception checking in and out. Outdoor spaces were nice to walk around and kept tidy.
