I must visit on good days, either that or there must be a more than high level of coffee experts in Darlington.We always stop for coffee and when the 10 year old needs breakfast. We have never had a bad meal or visit, and our coffee has always been nice.As for cost it’s on par with the other cafes in Darlington.

Avoid eating here at all cost!!! I had a simple breakfast meal on a saturday morning. By noon and all day sunday the following day I was bad. I will spare you the details. I should be charging for a pack of loo parer. Worst place ever, certainly not cooks thats for sure.

Honestly some reviewers quite frankly need to get a grip. Lovely cafe, decent prices, absolutely gorgeous chai latte and vanilla latte. We had toastie melts and they were lovely.

Nice food and coffee but service is extremely slow.if you are on limited time and just want a quick cuppa/snack then I wouldn't recommend this cafe.Also you get your drinks but food can take up to 20 minutes to arrive.Pleasant staff but needs more of them!

The only friendly staff was the lady who brought my bacon sandwich. Our teas were brought in stained mugs with tea bag still in the mug. Won’t be going again

Went on a Sunday for a treat as we are always at work. We ordered a cappuccino and a tea and 2 breakfasts. Cuppas took ages to come and the breakfast she told us they ran out of sausages so they did give us extra bacon but to be fair it wasn't great at all.

Burnt toastMy toast was burnt and served with black side down so it was not obvious until tasting the bitter charcoal. I mentioned it to 2 members of staff but it was ignored. Something was mumbled about it being the fault of the toaster and compensation but nothing was done. No apology. Considering the prices, the least the customer could expect is edible food - all of it.It was obviously hidden on my plate, hoping I wouldn’t notice. My party of 4 are going to meet regularly for breakfast as it suits their work schedule and gives us family time together but we will choose another venue. If Esquires Coffee had excelled we would have chosen it as our regular venue.It’s what you do - get it right and do it well.Show lessDate of visit: January 2022

So strange to see so many empty seats but we where in town really early and took advantage to grab a hot drink and toastie sandwich and just enjoy the atmosphere as the festive shoppers pass byReally enjoyed the service and snack the staff are keeping the surfaces clean and tidy for the next customer

Came here Monday 13th November Very bad mannered staff took ages to serve us when food final came we had no tea or coffee saying there had been a mistake girl had for got to charge for the tea and coffee told to go to back of queue to pay again girl said we will have it sorted right away 15mins later tea and coffee came , no manners from her so we had spent nearly 1hour in here as I said very poor service would not recommend here . Did ask to speak with management told won't be here till Wednesday.

Couldn’t eat the scone as it had spent so long in the microwave. I ordered a pot of tea but was told they’re “not allowed” to give me an extra pot with just hot water in… not sure I understand this! I walked out after just one mouthful of the scone and without waiting for my two pots of tea. If I’d read the reviews before I went in, I could have saved £8.50!! Avoid this place if you don’t like over-nuked food!
