I'll start this off by stating that no one who attended this meal drank any alcohol before the meal. Whilst we were at the premises, we had 1 beer or glass of wine each. This will be important later.Attended as a group of couples a few weeks ago, we do this every year in Preston and always try somewhere different. We were on the set/festive menu deal. We were told it was £29.99 each, everyone paid a £5 deposit, and this was dropped off at the restaurant. When we arrived, it took 30 minutes for them to seat us despite us all arriving together, I presume this was to try and get us to order drinks at the bar. We aren't big drinkers and knew the meal came with a drink, so none of us wanted a pre meal drink.Poppadoms were average, quite soft/stale, but the Chutneys were nice.No questions asked at any point regarding allergies or if anyone was vegan/vegetarian. Luckily, this wasn't required for our group, but it's frightening to think that if we did have allergies or dietry requirements, at no point did anyone see a menu for the meal, so goodness knows what would happen in that situation!Starter was average, samosa was nice, as was the chicken wing, but the lamb chop had no meat on it and was clearly deep fried. Some people got a little kebab with theirs, others didn't.For the main course, you get 4 tiny curries, 2 small bowls of rice, and a naan bread. Realistically, this is enough food for 2 people, but apparently the food is supposed to be shared per group of 4, so, as there were 16 of us, we should've had 16 curries, 8 rice's and 4 naans, but the way they placed them out was for groups of 6, so we only got 12 curries, 6 rice and 3 naans. When we asked about this, we were just waived off by the waiting staff.Mains were poor, tiny bits of meat in 3 of the tiny curries and paneer in the other. As far as we could tell, one of the meats was lamb, and the other 2 were chicken. Rice was OK, naan bread was nice.Whilst we were eating, there was a larger group behind us who were getting a little agitated about how they thought they were being overcharged and were also being told that someone still owed £25, despite them being adamant that they had all paid. We didn't think much of it as some of them were a little tipsy, and there were loads of them, so it would've been easy for someone to not have paid. When we came to pay, we were all expecting to pay £24.99 each (deducting the £5 deposit), but were then told we owed £26.25 each, when we queried this we were just told that's how much it is now. Annoyingly, we all paid the due amount as most of us needed to get back home to the babysitters. When we tried to leave, some staff actually blocked our way out and told us we still owed 2 x £26.25 as 2 people hadn't paid. No one had left early, and I can categorically state that everyone had indeed paid as the waiter came around to everyone with a card reader. Which, if the signal had been good enough, we would all have been able to prove via online banking. When we queried this outstanding amount, we were threatened with the police if we didn't pay up. At that point one of our group mentioned that we had heard them do the same thing to the group before us and that they were clearly just trying to rip us off, but that we were more than happy for them to call the police if needed, as in our eyes, if you base it on us only getting food for 12 people and not 16, we'd actually overpaid by £119.96. As soon as we said this, the tall waiter guy said to forget it and let us all leave.I'm not sure if they looked at us, and presumed we would all be drunk so wouldn't query the above, and from their perspective, we are a group of white couples in their mid 20's, so I can kind of understand the stereotype, no matter how wrong it is. But to think its acceptable to rip people off because you think they must be drunk is astounding.Staff were very rude throughout the night, bumping into people who were going to the bathroom, etc, slamming plates down on tables, arguing amongst themselves.Would give 0 stars if I could.

I have been here numerous times over the years when I am visiting feom London and it is still a fantastic experience.Service, food, quality, portion sizes and price (for the venue) are all excellent.I highly recommend this place. The lamb dishes in particular were of an exceptional quality.

Visited this place with some friends in Dec 2022. Nice open restaurant with lots of seating. Had the popadoms, mixed grill , lamb and chicken dishes, sweet and mango lassi. Good service. Good place to take families.Positives: The meat was really fresh and tender. The choice of pickles.

Really tasty food but expensive and not worth the money. They charge 12 to 15 pounds for a curry but you'd expect it to be a large. Instead they cut the meat into smaller pieces and fill with tomatoes. Years ago you used to get a good portion size but not been the same for past few years.

Brought me dear friend here for a late evening meal. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They advised us on various curries. I hate the saag chicken curry which was delicious. My friend had garlic chicken again scrumptious. Staff came to the table to take our drink orders several times and each time were very pleasant and chatty which, was very nice. Very relaxing meal as we got here about 10pm so not many people in.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at East Z East in Preston, and it truly stands out as one of the best spots for delicious Indian cuisine. The naan and chicken varieties were exceptional, and the poppadoms with pickle tray were a must-try starter. East Z East is highly recommended for a delightful culinary experience!

Very good food if a little oily. Service was excellent. The table lighting needs to be improved - basically there isn't any! Overall, worth trying!
