We had an absolutely lovely time yesterday at Onda - we were very lucky as we didn’t have a booking but as it was 4:30 on a Friday we only waited about 15 minutes before getting a table! Staff were really lovely and attentive and the food was just absolutely amazing - super fresh but flavourful. It’s a bit pricey but worth it.

- focaccia £6- baked alaska gelato £6- herb pesto gnocchi £10- lumache alla vodka £12- scallop and crab cappelletti £14to start, the focaccia was everything i wanted it to be and more; so soft, airy and crispy and the sweet balsamic it came with was simply addictive. i think £6 is expensive for only two slices but they are pretty big - £3/4 would be more reasonable.out of the pastas, the lumache was our favourite! the tomato sauce was so creamy and rich and the ‘nduja took it to another level by adding a hint of spice. a close second was the gnocchi bc they were so pillowy - i loved the texture! the langouistine bisque of the cappelletti was slightly bland but the flavour of the filling did stand out more.we finished the wonderful meal with their showstopper baked alaska gelato! the flavour changes every now and then but we had the fior di latte with strawberry and it was surprisingly not too sweet. sadly it did melt a LOT bc it was so hot that day but delicious nonetheless! the atmosphere of the place is very casual and simple so it is best suited for a casual meal rather than a special occasion.

I have been on a mission to find the best pasta in Manchester, and I think I've found it at Onda. The pizette was pillowly, with a strong garlic flavour and a great cheese pull. The vodka pasta, the dish we were most excited to try, was hot and spicy, I just wish it came with a little pecorino n top.The true winner here though is the brown butter pumpkin alfredo. Slightly sweet, creamy, all the delicious richness you want in a pasta. I would recommend this to anyone - it might not be the viral pasta, but it was by far the tastiest. We also tried the Gnocchi as well as the tiramisu and focaccia, all delicious.Hope to book in again next time the bookings open!

Onda has been so hyped up that I didn’t think it could possibly live up to my high expectations - it did.The venue (The New Cross) is small and has a great vibe, industrial and stripped-back. Great bar with some good stuff on draught and lovely wines. Staff were all absolutely lovely. On our server’s recommendation, we ordered three pastas and a pizzetta between two of us as they were small plates - when it all arrived I thought we’d bitten off more than we could chew but this was a great amount for two hungry people. We left very pleasantly full.I would say the lumache is probably the only traditionally full-size dish but worked great for us as a sharer. Love the slightly smaller portion sizes as it meant we could try a few different things, and we loved them all.As others have mentioned, the pizzetta is stunning - so pillowy with a great parmesan crust. All the pastas we tried - the carbonara, nduja vodka lumache, and green gnocchi - were so good that I can’t choose a favourite. Perfectly cooked pastas and the gnocchi was the best textured gnocchi I’ve ever had. Everything tasted so fresh - only thing I noticed was that we didn’t get an egg yolk on our carbonara, but I think I’ve seen on their social media that they usually add one. This defo wasn’t a deal breaker, as the carbonara is perfectly rich by itself! The famous tiramisu is also excellent - I was worried that the sponge would be dry or that the ratio of cream to sponge would be off, but the whole thing was bang on. I’d like the whole drawer all to myself please.Loved it here and now raving about it to everyone I know. Highly recommend - if you can get a table! The New Cross is a great venue, but I hope these guys are able to move to their own place soon to increase the number of tables they’re able to accommodate for!For reference, we spent about £60 for two of us including drinks (1 glass of wine, two soft drinks). This felt totally worth it for the overall experience, but you could also definitely get away with two pastas & a pizzetta between two people and leave very satisfied if you wanted to spend a bit less.

Guyssss!!! DO NOT MISS the chance to eat here. There’s a lot of hype behind this pasta bar and I am always dubious around social media hyped places but this is 1000% worth ever penny and second spent in their establishment. The food took me to a new level of consciousness. I love fresh pasta and you can literally see the kitchen team working their butts off to feed us all. With them being fully booked all the time I was worried the quality wouldn’t match what I was seeing but believe me when I say it was ALL THERE… the service, the quality, the deliciousness… I will be back as a walk in before Christmas and I’m already planning to book for my birthday meal with friends. You use an online scan and order system for food and drinks so makes it so easy to share a table and not worry about bill splitting. It’s so delicious and so perfect. Summary: you need to go.

Onda Pasta Bar
Epic food and a nice venue. We visited for the first time today and loved it all. Friendly staff, quick service and amazing food. We tried the Pizzetta (garlic, parsley and mozzarella), the Focaccia (with olive oil and balsamic), the Bucatini Carbonara and the Beef Shin Campanelle. All of them were bursting with flavour and tasted so fresh. The pasta was lovely and you can tell it is made fresh daily. We will be back!

Was quite sceptical of Onda given the wild hype on social media, but went in open minded and fair play, it was great. The food was fresh and some of the best pasta in town (the Parmesan foam is a dream), the pizzette brilliant and the tiramisu was great even though it couldn’t possibly live up to the TikTok hype. The wine and beer choices were a real highlight, only negative was the space gets cold quickly and the door being opened every 2 mins for people trying to walk in meant putting a jacket on. Only ordering via a pretty slow app too is a bit of a pain but that’s just being picky. All in all, great value for money and brilliant food, will be going back.

Food was absolutely amazing. One of the best meals we have had in Manchester. The seafood filled pasta with langoustine bisque was very special. Burrata amazing, mini pizza amazing (use it to mop up all the sauce left over and you’ll be heaven). Cacio e Pepe was incredible. Must try. Do it
