Thirlestaine Breast Centre

Had breast cancer a couple of years ago Thirlestaine Breast Cancer were fantastic as was my nurse Sue Scarrott and my consultant Eleanor Massey nothing waa too much trouble. The worst part of mine and my familys life made very much easier by them both caring and being there it does make a difference if you make a bond Thankyou both from me and my family it was certainly appreciated

Was feeling nervous and apprehensive after referral from GP. Kind and thoughtful staff made the whole experience easier.Was examined by consultant, had mammogram and results in under 2 hours.Thank you to everyone involved in my care. You are wonderful.

If there were 10 stars, Thirlestaine would have them! From the day my GP referred me, I cannot fault Thirlestaine. They rung me the very next day to offer an earlier appointment than my GP could make online, from seeing my GP to my appointment at Thirlestaine was only 1 week. I had all the checks done (specialist nurse examination, mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy) on the same day and at each stage everyone was telling me the results. As an ex nurse I really needed this and they were fantastic. I was in and out in 2 hours. I was given loads of reassurance that all seemed fine (although no guarantees until the biopsy results) but that they would get the biopsy results in 2 weeks & would call me if I needed to come back & if not I’d have a letter within 3 weeks. I actually got the letter less than 2 weeks from my appointment date confirming a benign lump. Everyone at every stage was absolutely lovely. You hear such bad stories of the NHS but there’s no way I would have received better care anywhere else. If you are referred to Thirlestaine be comfortated by the wonderful staff and wonderful service you will receive. Thank you so sincerely to everyone.xx

I don't know whether it was because I was a younger patient or what but after waiting around for just under 3 hours for my whole check over consultation. Now the staff which were examining me were amazing absoloutley fantastic the younger nurse was brilliant calmed my nerves straight away and made me feel more than comfortable as this being my first time EVER in a breast Venter I was anxious and scared. I found reception weren't helpful in the slightest when asked too go too reception with my paperwork I was assumed too be going in for something other than what I was and was told too wait in another waiting room in which I was then told by that reception embarrisingly I'm in the wrong place. Now with my anxiety sky high I've been put back in the overcrowded first waiting room in which I started at. Another 30 mins had passed and I'd already been given the clear so I wasn't sure what I was waiting for still after waiting a further 10 minutes I asked for help at reception for the lady on reception too be rather snippy towards me I'm a young adult and was clearly distressed i was made too feel stupid.

Referred to Thirlestone back I July within 6 days of seeing my practice nurse. Had mammogram, scan , biopsy and surgery date within 11/2 hours. No time to think and worry. The nursing staff were absolutely brilliant and caring throughout. Just finished chemo and already got an appointment at Thirlestone for prosthesis.

Wonderful. The nicest staff, who put me completely at ease during a very stressful and anxious time. Everyone took the time to talk me through what was happening and were reassuring and supportive. Super efficient too; I saw three people, was diagnosed and treated in under an hour. Big thank you to all the team :)

I can't praise Thirlstaine Breast Centre enough! All the staff was so wonderful, caring! I was in and out with 45 minutes. What a amazing team! You should all be proud of yourselves

Excellent service and lovely staff. The parking is limited but had no problems. I had been advised that the car park machines only took coins. This is incorrect, card or paying via an app is the only method.

An amazing bunch of people who made a difficult day surprisingly easy. A great Dr did a biopsy and a great assistant helped & I can honestly say it was so well done with empathy & care I cannot fault it. I had very little discomfort during and after the procedure. Thank you all so much!

The friendly staff and efficient service made a daunting experience much easier. I was called in 15 minutes before my appointment was due and within an hour I had had a mammogram, an ultrasound and two visits with the consultant. The process was so efficient that I hardly sat down between each phase before I was called for the next. At every stage all of the staff were warm, friendly and patient. A shining example of our NHS at its best. Thank you.
