The house that Tom Hayes and William Anderson of Jefcoate Anderson designed and built for us is stunning.In September 2019 we purchased a “cottage with planning permission” and approached JAA because they were local to where we then lived. What an excellent choice that turned out to be.They designed and built our house during the pandemic. Consultations had to be by phone, email and Zoom; and latterly there were some safely distanced outdoor site meetings. Despite many delays and supply problems we were able to move in for Christmas 2021.In the beginning we were asked what we wanted - we said a house of “glass and wood”, which is what we now have: a beautiful house, full of light, which sits happily in the leafy space that surrounds it.

Gavin Jefcoate worked with us on the design of our kitchen extension, which was on a difficult sloping site. We are delighted with the final design and build and Gavin was a pleasure to work with. He listened to our suggestions and responded quickly to queries. We would recommend him without hesitation.

I hired Jefcoate Anderson Architects for a full renovation of a 3 bedrooms flat. My brief was that I wanted more light in the flat, bigger rooms, and soundproof the floor entirely. Gavin was great at the design stage, coming with ideas I would not have had, and suggesting different floorplans accommodating for different budgets. Tom, the project architect, was in charge of monitoring the work and taking care of the features. I command Jefcoate Anderson Architects for the smooth communication throughout the project. Tom was excellent in taking care of the building work and making sure all was done according to the plans and the expected standards. Without his careful monitoring, the workers would have done mistakes difficult to fix, or successfully changed the agreed specifications for cheaper options. There were a few hiccups and stressful moments, but when these happened, Gavin and Tom were always available to reassure me and ensure that everything ran smoothly. I am now very happy with the final result, which I know would have been inmpossible to achieve without the creativity and professionalism of Jefcoate Anderson Architects.

I have worked with Gavin and William for a number of years. I have always been delighted with not only the quality of work but the commitment and communication with myself to get my projects pushed over the line in a timely manner. If any unforeseen problems arise, they are always handled quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend.

Gavin and his team have been brilliant with our West Linton Pharmacy redesign and refit. From start to finish the level service has been fantastic, always available to talk through decisions and with myself and our main contractor providing practical and economic solutions.Natural light and space was very important to our family and these have been captured exceptionally.

We are very pleased with the new living space William and team designed for us. William came over for a consultation and he listened to what our needs were, suggested ideas we had not thought about and delivered. I can't thank William and the team enough for their welcome and advice when I wandered into their office one day, confused and unsure about buying a property. William later came out to look at a few places with me before I finally bought somewhere suitable for reconfiguration and extension.William devised a wonderful design that creates great views of the garden and uses a corner window to make the most of the light moving around the property.The extension transforms an ordinary New Town basement flat into something fabulous. Everyone who walks into the kitchen loves the way the garden wraps itself around the building. Its the perfect space to start my day - whatever the weather it always lifts my spirits.
