Edinburgh New Town Cookery School Ltd

After completing their 3 month intermediate course, I've took on a carrier in a Michelin star restaurant in Edinburgh.The course prepared me to basic and more advanced cooking techniques and it had been a true life saviour for that environment.The teachers were incredibly competent and helpful, the grading included leadership and team building exercises that prepared me for my journey inside kitchens.

I found myself here the other night after being given a spare ticket for a patisserie class.The start of the evening once we got into the kitchen was a bit stressful. 23 out of 24 people turned up and so when we were told to pair up I found my self being the odd one out and working alone.My culinary skills being limited to flapjacks, coffee and over done pasta so i was convinced that anything i actually managed to make would be inedible or unrecognizable as food.Thankfully with the simple to follow recipes, ingredients that were pre-measured and laid out ready to go and the incredibly helpful, staff I was able to calm down and produce a decent batch of eclairs, truffles and friands. and the perk of not having a partner meant double quantities to take home/to work the following day.I really need to say a special thanks to Emily for all of her help and keeping me calm, the girl has the patience of a saint

Game Cookery course received as a birthday gift. Utterly enjoyable day; friendly, engaging tutors; interesting ingredients prepared and cooked in a sociable atmosphere. Lunch in the gracious dining-room was a highlight, not least because we'd prepared it ourselves. Containers filled with the fruits of our labours to bring home a real bonus. Great value for money. Am already dropping big hints to the family for a repeat visit early in the new year!

Did the Curry in a Hurry evening class. We cooked rice in way that produced delicious flavours. Followed by Tai curry using some ingredients new to me, it was equally delicious. The class was small, so plenty of attention given to all by very enthusiastic teacher.

I attended the Easy Entertainment course, it was thoroughly enjoyable. Rhubarb was previously not my favourite yet the Roast Rhubarb and Marscapone Tartlet was amazing!

Booked a 90 min course a few days before it was due to take place and got severely ill the day before.Was told I could send someone else but they wont refund or reschedule. Sure, I knew when I booked that there would be no refunds etc but to me this constitutes an exceptional circumstance that demands some common sense.Should I have just turned up and infected everyone? Yeah that seems like a great plan for everyone involved.Absolutely pathetic behaviour, and a shameful way for a business to be conducting themselves.EDIT: They did eventually phone back a few hours later, and offer me to reschedule, only paying for ingredients wasted (£10). Eventually took part in a scone masterclass which was good, but still disappointing that the business had to be induced to behaving reasonably.

I spent a vey happy and fulfilling six months attending the diploma course at E.N.T.C.S. Fiona and the team were helpful, knowledgeable and patient. I could not recommend the course or the school more highly.

I attended a pasta making class here and it was great fun! The staff here were super friendly, had wonderful teaching skills and really knew their ravioli from their tagliatelle. And now thanks to their great class, so do I!It was a well prepared and structured class, the tutor shares lots of useful and practical hints and tips during the class. This means you leave confident not just to prepare what you cover in the class but to experiment with your new skills too.I highly recommend the team here, it's a great place for team building events, an alternative group night out/hen weekends etc as well.

I got given a Veggie Fest Cookery Class as a birthday present, and I had a really wonderful time! The dishes were excellently chosen to use a range of skills and have a range of flavours, and our teacher, Colette, was wonderful - kind, generous, with excellent tips and interesting information about our food. I am also really grateful for Carol and Savannah for being so helpful and making sure everything ran really smoothly. Thank you!

Had a great day there today, 24 Jun, doing the taste of Mexico lessons. Collette our instructor was great, and answered any questions that was put to her. Also thanks to the other staff who were always busy prepping and ensuring things went without a hitch. What a great Father’s Day gift.
