The Northcote Jeweller

In June I went to get the ruby replaced on my necklace. I had had the necklace for 18 months when the original ruby fell off. Not only did it take over a month to get fixed, less than 3 weeks later the new ruby fell off. When I originally had the necklace, I wore it everywhere (to bed, in the shower, etc) I never took it off. But upon getting the ruby replaced, I was much more vigilant. Yet the brand new ruby fell off almost immediately. I spent £80 and was very unhappy that it came off so quickly after being repaired. I would not recommend this place as I now have to spend more money trying to get it fixed elsewhere.

I was given some cuff links as a Christmas gift from the Northcote Jeweller but they were in a colour I don’t like so took them into the shop to see if I could exchange them. The staff were thoroughly delightful and even though I didn’t have the receipt the cuff links were very distinctive and they easily recognised them. They had a great selection to choose from and spent time chatting and showing me different options, between us deciding (after going outside into daylight) on a colour ‘the exact shade of blue’ as my eyes!A ‘gem’ of a local business!

I contacted Luke Stockley to enquire getting a ring I had purchased via a third party remade into my size, but was extremely worried about whether that would be possible, as the ring tin question was no longer being sold. Not only did Luke Stockley say that they still had the cast of the ring, but that they would remake it in my size and in the same materials! I was absolutely thrilled! I communicated exclusively through Kila, who answered all of my questions and kept me informed and up to date. I've never dealt with someone who was so patient and willing to answer, guide me through the paying process, and was able to assuage any fears I may have had. I have received my new ring and it's rapidly becoming one of my favourite pieces. I cannot recommend this jeweller highly enough, both for their friendliness and willingness to make me, what is essentially, a bespoke piece, but also for their professionalism, their ease of manner and how I, as customer with an awkward request, never felt belittled and always felt taken care of. I hope that this can inspire people to reach out to Luke Stockley. I cannot thank them, and Kila specifically, enough.

Went to get a chain repaired for my mum’s 50th birthday and found the exact combination of opal and amethyst her ‘spiritual’ friend had mentioned in ring form. It more than I wanted to spend but she was really overjoyed to receive it and she’s my mum, she’s worth it . Chain is perfect again too!

Really lovely small business. Friendly and helpful staff. They've fixed my engagement ring and a gold chain of mine, and gave some good advice on my fiancé's wedding ring. They were quick to address an issue with my gold chain repair (they do send these out externally to be repaired - so was not due to their fault), and there were no questions asked, which I felt was a really nice, honest approach towards a customer. Will definitely be using them in the future for all my jewellery needs!

Gave them an engagement ring for resizing, they quoted £100 and 2 weeks.2 weeks later after hearing nothing, I went back and they had lost my details, so they asked me to repeat the order, evidently having done nothing for two weeks. Then when I checked back it took even longer than they had quoted to do the resizing, then they asked for me to pay 20% more than they had quoted, but WORSE, the ring was now a different incorrect size! Not what was asked for and the inscription in the ring had been removed! When asked why it had been removed they said we hadn’t specified that the inscription should be left on!! Nonsense , ended up paying for another jewler to fix thier bad work because I wouldn’t trust them with the engagement ring again as they would obviously make more mistakes.The store has nice interior design which is why I trusted them but in reality they’re incompetent.

My husband bought me a beautiful marcasite and blue topaz ring at The Tower of London jewellery store. It needed to be re-sized, so I contacted the designer of the ring and found The Northcote Jeweller owned by Luke Stockley (the amazing British jeweller and designer of my ring). Since we found The Northcote Jeweller (which only opened in 2019) I’ve been treated to an array of beautifully designed coloured gemstone jewellery for my birthday and Christmas presents (this included more classy Blue Topaz and decadent Opal!). My Christmas/Birthday present (last year) from my hubby was a platinum Luke Stockley designed asscher cut diamond ring with a milgrain surround and gorgeous dark blue french cut sapphires. It’s beautiful.More recently we found a bright and colourful DEAREST ring for my mother-in-law’s birthday present, she loved it!For Valentines Day this year, my husband had some beautiful platinum diamond and sapphire earrings (to match the ring he bought me last year) made especially by the team,they are absolutely gorgeous.My one and only criticism of this jewellery shop is it seems to take a long time for things to be adjusted and sometimes there are a few flaws. For example it took nearly 2 weeks for my mother in laws ring to be re-sized (and they put that through to be done sooner) and disappointingly I cannot wear my platinum earrings as the butterflies keeps falling out at the back (I nearly lost the earrings the first week!) It took a long time for them to be made for me in the first place; but now we have to return them as we noticed the hallmarking has been stamped on the earring slider and stops the butterfly/stud from sitting in flush. I’m sure the team will sort it out but it is slightly inconvenient.

I took in my mother's incredibly precious ruby and diamond ring in to be repaired as a small diamond had fallen out. I had to take it in 4 additional times, it cost me c£500....and not only did it break again, Northcote damaged the ring...I later I took the ring to a different repair shop costing me £2000! I am unbearably hurt that this shop not only ruined my ring, it bankrupted me in the process. What should have been an easy repair has led to it having to be fully recreated. Totally unacceptable and my mother's ring with never be the same...(order under Kate, and yes i can assure you it was this shop)

I was a little nervous after having read some of the previous reviews but as it’s my local Jeweller I decided to give them a go. I needed my bracelet shortened. I was given a quote and the repair was done perfectly. The staff and service was impeccable. I also bought some gorgeous pearl and diamond earrings for £300 less than I had seen on another jewellers website. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
