Woodland Lakes

Checked in yesterday and were greeted by a dirty glass and empty can on the side next to the hot tub. Entered the lodge which in the photos showed 2 triple seater sofas but instead was 1 L shaped sofa. Upon moving the foot poof found a condom packet and random piece of plastic. We then went on to find a dirty sock, 3 biscuits/crackers (one of which was stuck to the side of the sofa) a playing card and some other rubbish. When we dropped our phone down the side of the sofa we moved the sofa cushion to get the phone back and found magic stars and nuts! Thank god we do not have a nut allergy because if we did this would be incredibly serious. We also found another dirty sock in the main bedroom. Absolutely horrible start to our holiday having to clean all these things. When today we went to reception to raise our complaint with a manager we had to speak to 3 different people and when we spoke with the manager they couldn’t have cared less and only bothered to look at 2 of our photos and belittled our complaint. Was offered no form of compensation. Awful customer service and experience.

Lovely time away at woodland lake lodges

Disappointing fishery as it stands..but alot of work currently being done..so one for the future. Tackle shop is run down and can do with a good sort out and stocking up. Cafe was good as was the bar.... Restaurant seemed ok but koi pond definitely needs some tidying up and cleaning... Staff were rude in tackle shop and abit pre occupied in restaurant even when not busy..so again disappointing.This is only a review for the fishing lakes and it's tackle shop....bar and restaurant...not the lodges where we stayed with hot tubs...they were fantastic

We spent last week at Woodlands Thirsk in the lodges and fished every day, had a fantastic time, probably the best fishing in this country I've been to. My son who's 13 caught lots of doubles, ( for the first time) he loved it, and to wrap it all off, there was a nice hot tub at the end of the day at the lodge, fantastic.Fishing, there's plenty of lakes they are all looked after, plenty of bins for rubbish and good clean swims. It has an onsite tackle shop, (some stuff a bit pricey, but to be expected) the staff are very helpful and the guy who collects the money gave us plenty of good advise and tips, in general its pretty laid back.It has a cafe, restaurant and sports bar, (which is always nice to have a quick pint or two after a days fishing)Its perfect for fishing, families or just a break in the loverly North Yorks countryside. (o and it has a spa and small indoor pool as well ) and dog friendly.We will defiantly be coming back, and we're all looking forward to it. Great place, friendly staff and good location.5* all the way from me, my son can't wait to go again :)

Absolutely fantastic place to chill and unwind great for dogs also love coming here been over 10 years now

great day fishing on kestrel lake. our first time to the water and first time fishing for my 13yr old son. great to catch loads of good size and healthy carp

It really is lovely here still gave a 5 but it could have better signs around the place as in the dark when we arrived and we got lost. Beautiful surrounding lovely lodge and views over lake x

hi I would like to make a complaintWe arrived on Tuesday the 7th of NovemberAs we got our keys for lodge as went round to itOn the front 2Plastic panels was hanging off the double doorsThe main entrance door doesn’t close flush so it rattles and lets cold air throughThe sofa was ripped to bits and all the leather was pealing offTheres paint and plaster missing on some off the wallsMould round the bathThe main bedroom Bed frame was to small for the mattress so it was over hanging either sideThe shelves in the fridge was brokenAlong to roof all way down the middle it was all bubbled as if water was going to come throughWhen going to get in the hot tub it was full of leafsHad to get a net to fish these outWas fed up of complaining about the white dog from the water mill coming round the site not even on a lead park policy is all dogs need to be on leads yet this one didn’t so was constantly upset my dog by running around near him etcWent to reception desk spoke to a young lad who clearly was scared of confrontation couldn’t answer the questions and shyed awayAgain maintenance came round changing the filters etc on the hot tubs left ours uncovered again full of leafs again poor serviceThen last night was an absolute joke lodge 22 out partying screaming throwing thing till 2-3am we couldn’t sleep this morning there got tub lid was in middle of nowhereGlasses al over place bottles all over place absolutely disgustingTo say we come for a quite break as I’ve been suffering with bad health mentally and physical and this is what we got and had to put up with was an absolute disgrace and awful experience we had
