Julian Stevens - Eye Surgeon

It’s been 7 days since I had lens implant surgery (ICL), and I still can’t find the words to describe what a life changing procedure this has been. Having astigmatism and an -7.5 prescription since early childhood, I never saw myself as a candidate for such a procedure. Mr Stevens is the best you’ll be able to get in the UK, he was recommended to me by a family friend & at no point have I been disappointed. Mr Stevens and his highly skilled team are so extremely efficient, within a few weeks from the initial consultation I was able to see, all by myself!In terms of the actual procedure, you cannot feel or see a thing (yes I was conscious!). The after care is fantastic, I woke up in the middle of the night a mere few hours after my op and could see crystal clear. It didn’t feel real, and still doesn’t now.I couldn’t recommend getting this procedure done more, please don’t just take my word for it… please visit Mr Steven’s for yourself. My only regret is not doing it sooner.

I chose to have my LASEK eye surgery through Julian Stevens because of multiple personal recommendations as a trusted practice, and his experience with military customers. My corrected vision is now 20/20+, I'm able to return to contact sport and my medical record is watertight. Easily the best life investment I've made so far.

Miraculous !! I was recommended to Julian Stevens by one of my bridge partners. She stressed that there were cheaper options but Mr Stevens uses the absolute best Zeiss lenses, and has huge experience. I had the surgery done in a very well run clinic in Oxshott Surrey and all the consultations in Harley Street/Queen Anne Street..Post op: Lots of eye drops for 4 weeks, which I found tiresome as I am no good at putting them in [I am 83 and live alone but it was Ok whenever I had someone visiting to do it for me. ,so no problem if you have a partner]Had my post op check up this week and was told that I now have 20/20 vision without glasses after wearing them all the time for 40-50 years. I do not need them for driving , computer work, playing bridge or watching television. Small print reading does still need shop bought non-prescription glasses sometimes, but if the light is good, as for example my bedside lamp, I can read perfectly well. with no glasses at all, and do so most nights.I should add that the ,procedure itself is painless and very swift, about 15 minutes in all. Local anesthetic and sedative. I was so relaxed I fell asleep during the op !!I should also say that My Stevens' team are a model of efficiency. When you ring about any aspect of concern or admin., whoever answers the phone can deal with it. I never once had to ring backMr Stevens himself is a no nonsense professional and instills great confidence in his experience and skills.I cannot recommend him and the procedure highly enough !

Mr Stevens performed cataract removal by Femtophaco and lens implantation on me in August 2023. My astigmatism was also corrected. My experience and outcome were excellent. As a health professional, I was impressed by the level of pre and post care and monitoring and also that all spoken or email enquiries were dealt with immediately, respectfully and expertly. Very comprehensive written information is provided. The whole team are impressive. When I found out that my eye prescription was too severe for Lasik and was offered Implantable contact lenses (ICL) instead, I was petrified! But Dr Julian and his team were so reassuring. On the day, I went to their Centre for Sight in Surrey (a temporary location) and felt thoroughly looked after by everyone on the team. This surgery has changed my life. I've been wearing glasses for short-sightedness since I was 8 years old (I'm now 37), and I cannot thank Dr Julian enough for what he's done for me :)

I had my lens replacement surgery in November 2022. I wanted to wait before posting a review as Mr Stevens had said that it would take six months for everything to really settle. It's true! My sight was great initially post surgery, but it's really over the last few months that I have noticed how fantastically I can see! It still feels surreal to wake up and be able to see! I had been extremely short sighted since a child and to be able to see without very thick glasses or contact lenses (I was wearing a -12), is truly amazing. The whole process with Mr Stevens and his team was wonderful and I would not hesitate to recommend him.

An amazing experience from start to finish. Total confidence is given that you are in the right hands. I had both eyes with lense implants and cataracts removed only 3 days ago and already I feel like my sight has never been so good. This is actually a follow-up review after I was reminded by a friend who asked for a recommendation for a surgeon.I had LASIK by Julian Stevens in 2016, and i can say that it was genuinely one of the best decisions of my life. I grew up as the daughter of an optician, who scared me into thinking that surgery was never going to be a safe option. However, I did extensive research myself and I can tell anyone that Mr Stevens is about as safe as you will get. Other 'high st' type providers are likely to cut corners and not have such a low complication rate as someone as experienced as this. Even if he is not the right surgeon for you - please please go to someone highly experienced and reputable.7 years on, I still have better vision than I ever had corrected with glasses or lenses. I have been able to experience things I would never have been able to, such as watersports. It also made a massive difference when I have been unwell and during the birth of my child.I am a medical doctor myself, and Mr Stevens is the only surgeon I recommend to friends and family who ask.

I had a prescription of -13.5 with cataracts and various other issues. For over 45 years I have struggled with my vision. Opticians have always told me that it was unlikely that anything surgically could be done to improve my sight. Research led me to Julian and as of yesterday I now can throw away my lenses and glasses! The procedure was thorough and painless. Allow plenty of time for appointments- you’ll see several different people, doing different things. I cannot empathise enough how wonderful Julian and his team are. Julian gets how visceral it is when your whole life has been blighted by extreme myopia and then after half a day in the clinic you can see. Don’t underestimate how emotional and life changing this can be. It is of course a very anxious wait and vision is a little blurry at first but you just know that it has worked and your sight will continue to improve. I have spent more money on ridiculous things but this is YOUR SIGHT! Invest in the best and like everyone else on this thread, you’ll wish you’d done it sooner.
