Skerne Wetlands
Gorgeous little Wetlands just outside of Driffield. Lovely array of flowers and nature. Just beautiful. Saw deer, hawks, swifts and other day. That's even when the heavy down pour stuck. A must see spot, even if the single track road to get there can be a bit precarious in places.

Spend most of my free days at YWT Skerne Wild Wetlands Doing Work for the trust,Enjoy almost every minute spent thereLovely walks at the end of the day around the reserve watching Kingfishers, Marsh Harriers and Water Voles, Barn Owls and Otters to name just a few of some of the fantastic wildlife in this wild wilderness

Kept driving down farm roads even though felt like Maps didn't know what was going on. Suddenly found a very tiny car park and a beautiful wetlands site. Saw Kingfisher, marsh harrier, and possibly otters. Approximately 1.5 hours. Would have liked a few more hides to sit in. As someone else has already said, it's secret...

The access to this site is down an unsurfaced road so maybe don’t wash your car the morning before your visit but once you’re there it’s brilliant. Great for wildlife and photography.
