Bennetts Water Gardens
What a fabulous place to visit! The lakes and gardens are beautifully cared for, and the on-site restaurant has a good selection at reasonable prices. So many varieties and colours of lilies, and stunning reflections! Places to sit and watch the dragonflies fish jumping, and some very friendly ducks too! (Not a good place for small children or dogs, imo)

Finally visited the water gardens , I've only lived near them for 40 yrs , so took my daughter and grandkids on a nice sunny day and wow what a wonderful surprise the gardens , lakes and lily plants are fantastic. Well presented and kept in excellent condition sign posted throughout. Spent a few hours just wandering around enjoying the views and tranquility of the place even with lots of people around , you can easily find a quiet spot , great places dotted around for a picnic or go to the cafe , this can get busy so be prepared to wait , all in all a great place to visit.

Excellent. Very peaceful, ignoring the road noise. Not cheap at £11.50 but still good value. Needs to be a reasonably sunny day to see the full effect of the water lilies.Good little café - will be better with coffee machine working!

Beautiful garden. Flat paths. Replica Bridge from Monets Garden. Wide variety of water lilies, plants, and trees. Great little cafe attached. You don't need to purchase a garden ticket to use the cafe. Parking on site.

Beautiful peaceful place. 8 acres of water gardens to amble around at your own pace. Lillie's everywhere, the monet bridge and I've never seen so many dragonflies. Coffee and cake in the cafe to finish was nice too. Free parking. Just remember they don't open Saturdays.

We are getting to the end of the season and Bennetts will close at the end of September, reopening in April 2024. Entrance is £11.50 for an adult. Today {13th Sept) they were giving £5 reductions as the 2 largest ponds were closed for tree cutting work. We have bought season tickets so can go when we please. It has a reasonable parking area, but if you live in West Dorset you can come by bus X53 from Axminster/Bridport or Weymouth and the 8 from Weymouth stops on the main road by Chickerel camp, then it's only a few minutes walk from there. There is a small cafe with a limited menu and it's quite pricey. Numerous walks around several lakes and through woodland, though not all are open to wheelchairs or mobility scooters. Still quite a few Lillie's out now but will be better in the main season next year. Picturesque bridge similar to Monets looks wonderful. There are public loos on site along with a small museum and gift shop. There are numerous benches to sit and admire the views and you can take your own food, though it's not allowed to consume food and drink in the gazebos. Altogether a lovely gentle place to while away a couple of hours.

Wow what a beautiful place. Stunning water lily's and beautifully laid gardens. Lots of places to sit and take in the lily's and surrounding plants. Monet bridge is set looking across the Orfe pond towards the wedding gazebo. The bridge it's self is not wheelchair accessible, but there are plenty of other route round the ponds. The path around some willows is narrow but worth the walk. There is a picnic area with benches also a giant checker board should you wish to have a game. There is parking but limited, so overspill goes into Putton lane. It was very busy on our visit, but the gardens had been featured on TV a few days ago. Monet cafe was very busy, didn't help that the coffee machine had broken. They have a light menu of sandwiches, light bites and cakes. There is a small gift shop, plant nursery. They are only open week days not weekends. This garden is very much worth a visit. Adults/senor £11 entry.

It was a shame the day we decided to go part of it was closed for tree surgery. The noise was too much for any video recording, but entry was offered with a very good discount. We did also get some good advice from one of the team. I can only deduct one star, as putting the tree surgery to one side this little gem is an amazing place.

I feel it is quite expensive to visit, so I suggest if you go, to plan for a couple of hours at least. The lilies were stunning. I also saw butterflies, dragonflies and a heron flew over. There were also ducks with ducklings and coots with young. There is cafe, which I didn't have time to visit. You can visit the cafe without visiting the gardens.
