Enterprise Car & Van Hire - Southampton Central Docks

This is definitely, by far, the worst Enterprise branch I've dealt with. They couldn't get me the car I requested, and forced me to pay an upgrade fee and wouldn't stop bugging me about various fees. I understand that they are trying to make more profits, but that usually ends after the customer declines once. The return was overly complicated too. I have never seen someone staring at a car so deeply, spending minutes on each tire, for a return. I suspect this branch regularly deals with cruise tourists and thinks that they can scam people into paying for what would have been a free upgrade.

Good service. I booked a car online for 2 days for business use, when I arrived they allowed me to park my own car there for the duration of the rental at no extra cost. Tony served me, great guy, well presentable, looked like he enjoyed his job and has an interest in cars. Good experience all round

Decided to hire a car from enterprise Southampton for a long weekend. What a great choice. Having booked and paid for the car on line, I received a courtesy call from the team a couple of days prior to collection which was nice. Upon collection day, I was greated by an assistant David Johnson. What a helpful, friendly professional person he was. He completely reassured me of my choice and the booking (even had a choice of colour) He took the time to explain all the controls and the automatic handbreak (first time of driving with one). He certainly gave a professional, outstanding service, totally satisfied. Thank you David!

I use this branch very often for personal and work purposes and I’ve had an overall good experience with the service.Being a regular there have been issues with some of my rentals but in my experience they are always keen to rectify the issues and compensate for inconveniences caused. Sometimes it takes a bit of back and forth but we always get there in the end.Worth mentioning Yinka who helped me sort out one particularly complicated booking and ensured it all went well; and Ramos who gives me tips on how to check out the cars to ensure I identify and communicate any faults beforehand.This branch is very busy and there is often not enough time between customers to turn around a car properly but I’ve never received a car that was so dirty I couldn’t use it. It may not be freshly washed but it’ll be presentable.There is also a shortage of automatic cars and often they have to make some kind of change to the order which may be an upgrade or downgrade, again depending on what they have available at that time. The company needs to increase its fleet to address this issue but the staff on ground try to do the best with the cars they have available.

David Johnson and his associate Isobel Lyons gave us a truly 5 star service! Welcoming, super friendly and fun and a fabulous car which suited our needs perfectly! Will definitely be using enterprise again

Almost all cons…* Had to wait 15 minutes for vehicle as was not ready.* Had to stand outside another 10 minutes while the staff person tried to explain then solicit extra insurance for the car. Finally, he noticed I had already purchased the extra insurance online.* After driving an hour or so à light stating the vehicle needed servicing lit up. It went on & off for the rest of our trip.Pro…The vehicle itself was clean & performed well during our 2 weeks of use.

I really hate that it has come to me writing a review but I have never experienced such bad service from a company.I needed a vehicle as my car was in repair due to an accident. Enterprise gave me a Hyundai Ionic. I said I wasn’t happy as it isn’t the same standard as my car (which the insurance company said they would match). However I appreciate that this could have been the insurance companies error. Enterprise then said that if I want to upgrade they will give me a Qashqai but I will have to pay £20 a day so naturally I took the Hyundai Ionic. The ionic ended up having a puncture, I couldn’t get through to them so I ended up driving the car back to the enterprise office. My car’s repair was not ready so I needed an extension from enterprise and of course another car from them. This time they ended up giving me a brand new Jeep with no additional cost (so why would they charge me extra for the Qashqai?). Eventually when I was ready for them to pick up the Jeep and the pick up was arranged they didn’t pick up their own car. Till now it is still in the car park at work.

The customer service people were great and the car was nice BUT this branch needs to reconsider their opening hours for a Saturday! Cruise ships dock less than five minute away from this branch on a Saturday morning at 6 am, but the branch doesn’t open until 9 am, so by the time the branch opened last Sat, there were at least a dozen people queueing. We had a car booked for 9am and were on a tight deadline. We were third in the queue and luckily managed to get away by .9.30. Every other day of the week it opens at 8 o’clock, so why can’t it open 8 o’clock on a Saturday which is probably I would say the busiest day of the week! I did hear one lady say that they always have a lot of people queueing on a Saturday!!! By the time the branch opened at 9 o’clock, and there was only one person serving for about 10 minutes you can imagine the discontent with the people queueing outside! Think about your customers Enterprise!

Very helpful as our car had to go in for repair nothing was too much trouble even when I kept asking questions, car was great clean and surprisingly economic to.run Abbs was great said any problems not to hesitate to ring, car come with breakdown as well just in case.We had Vauxhall crossland grand X great car 6 speed and all the electric gadgets you could want I would recommend enterprise for us it was a good experience.

David Johnson was amazing, so professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and an all-around great guy. The car went well for 28 days, no problem. Great experience!!
