My husband, John, and I hired a VW California Campervan from Gemma and Ben to go to Glastonbury. After an extensive introduction to the van, we left feeling a little apprehensive as we'd never holidayed in a VW before. It was so easy to drive and very comfortable. The van was very compact with so much attention to detail. We had a fridge, two burner gas hob and a small sink connected to a water tank. We hired the wild camping toilet with tent. We kept the pop-top open for the whole weekend along with the awning. The weather was kind to us (very unusual for Glastonbury). It was great to sleep in comfort after long days at the festival and to eat breakfasts outside.We enjoyed our time in the camper so much, we are now considering buying a van of our own. Thanks Gemma and Ben. The van was immaculately clean and it was very satisfying to know that you were at the end of the phone had we had any problems.All in all, Glastonbury was a great success in more ways than one - we saw Paul McCartney; The Fisheman's Friends performed on the Acoustic Stage and we stayed in a California Campervan.Would definitely recommend this company to anyone wanting to hire a van.

Couldn't recommend these folks highly enough. Great vehicle and lovely people to deal with. We rented a van and went from Cornwall to Suffolk to go to a festival. Unexpectedly had to take the two little ones too, but Jemma was great and really flexible. Amazing customer service, super friendly, and such clear instructions on how to get the most out of the van. Helped us to have a fantastic holiday!

Jemma and Ben are absolutely wicked - can't recommend them highly enough!The micro camper is so so useful for getting all over Cornwall, not least those hard to reach tucked away beaches and coves. It's also an ingenius design and really comfy.I used to work for a campervan rental place and I can confirm that these guys have one of the best operations! They are also lovely and full of great suggestions and local tips.

From the time of booking back in February 2021, to post-trip - Jemma and Ben’s communication was second to none, always replying within minutes with recommendations and helpful tips. They are a fabulous company to deal with at every stage of booking, exceptionally friendly, helpful and personable people.We hired the brand new VW California Coast for 12-nights in August 2021 and circumnavigated south Cornwall, up to Polzeath and Tingtagel - across to Gorran Haven and all the way around to Wadebridge via the Roseland coast, Lizard and Lands End peninsulas using a mixture of campsites, overnight car parks and Britstops.Everything inside and out of the camper was immaculate - it was a dream to drive and enjoy for almost 2-weeks. All of the mod-cons including reversing camera, front and rear sensors and both front seats swivel which proved very useful when parked up.As a small young family, it was a perfect size - it was nice that all crockery, pans and utensils were included (even fry light and washing up liquid). The info-screen was brilliant, allowing quick functionality for camping mode, lighting, fridge operation, levelling and the auxiliary heater; you could easily do 2/3 nights on just the leisure battery without the need for electric hook-up.Some pretty neat features that we loved - the awning, the camp chairs zipped into the boot, Apple Car Play and of course - the panoramic opening at the front of the pop-top…our favourite memories were sitting on the pop-top bed and looking out of the panoramic opening at the scenery and sunsets! We also loved parking up anywhere, popping the top and boiling a kettle or making a bacon sandwich to take in the view with.Jemma and Ben also provide a electric shower with pump (with collapsible bucket) that plugs into the cigarette lighter in the boot, the Britstops book, plus levelling blocks.Although our trip was comprehensive and we saw all we wanted to see, I would wholeheartedly hire from Blue Dog again in a flash. Highly recommended :-)

You are in very safe hands hiring a campervan from the Blue Dog Campervan Co. Ben and Jemma provide a wonderful service from start to finish. Ben provided us with some great advice following our booking on places to visit in Cornwall and where to stay. The VW Coast itself is an outstanding piece of kit, a Swiss Army knife on wheels and so comfortable, even for a family of four with two tall adults. On hire, it was spotless and Jemma gave a really useful tour around the vehicle before we got on the road.It goes without saying that Cornwall is a superb place to visit so the combination of location, great vehicle and superb hire company is a recipe for an excellent holiday. We would definitely recommend

Having never hired or holidayed in a VW camper before I did not know what to expect or if I would even enjoy the break. But how wrong was I....We hired this beautiful Vw California Coast from the blue dog campervan company and from the moment we booked the communication from Ben and Jemma was outstanding. Replying to messages within minutes and offering recommendations of some beautiful places to visit (not knowing cornwall this was very useful).On collection Jemma ensured we had a full tour of the van and demonstrated how everything works so we had no difficulties when on our own. Also offering safe off road parking for our vehicle whilst on holiday was also reassuring.The van was immaculate and very well designed, with ample storage and space for my husband and I, we never felt at any time that we were cramped or fighting for space.There are plenty of great features with the coast, including an integrated system in which you can control heating, fridge temperature, lighting, and can also check the leveling when parked. For outside seating there is a table consealed in the door and chairs in the boot frame and a wind out awning which was easy to use.There really is no need to bring any extras except bedding as everything is included. Jemma and Ben have thought of everything you will need to make your holiday as easy as possible.If you are looking for some good campsites we would recommend teneriffe farm campsite in Helston if you want some where quite and secluded, for beach location (approx 10 minute walk over sandunes to beach) then Gwithian Bay campsite is great, our final and top site of the week was Denis Cove 10 minutes walk into Padstow, views are amazing and facilities we could not fault.If you are looking for an adventure and want to hire a camper we can definitely recommend using the blue dog campervan co.Thank you Jemma and Ben, I'm sure you will see us soon.

Jemma and Ben provided a responsive and very pleasant service. Jemma took time to walk us through the van at handover and it was clean and well equipped. We had the choice to bring our own bedding due to covid19. The battery on board worked well so that we did not feel the need to be hooked up. We really enjoyed using the van to tour Cornwall and walk some parts of the path. A great experience. Thanks.
