This is hands down our favourite pub anywhere! Beautiful setting by the river, delicious food, and friendly staff. My kids love running around on the lawns in summer or playing the boardgames inside in winter. Really a very special spot for the whole family.

Overall a great experience! The staff were useful. They facilitate the booking process. They have a massive beautiful patio with view to the canal. The food is good. I had a burger but the meat was seasoned or very little season.We had a lovely time.

I loved this pub!! I personally walked but it seemed alot of people drove. It's a stone's throw from university park and highly recommended. A fun walk with a great reward at the end. The pub itself has a bit more of a restaurant feel, however it works with the location with a great beer garden on the river. I would highly recommend checking it out.

Good food, pleasant surroundings although little atmosphere where we were sitting. The pub is dog friendly which was really good. Service somewhat slow but the staff were very friendly. Warning: Keep your speed down on the approach road, gets a bit lively.

I had the ploughman's, my wife had fishcakes. Both well prepared and presented, Butcombe Gold was in very good condition. Staff very friendly and efficient. Some years since I was last in the garden, but the Riverside has been much improved so arriving by river now much easier.

Went with a large party (25+) for dinner and drinks -- James and Dimitri were phenomenal, making sure every guest had the best experience possible. Delicious food, scenic view, and attentive service from James -- we will certainly come back soon. The Thai steak salad and the burgers were, of course, amongst my favorite.

We booked a family party of 12 for lunch to celebrate three birthdays. The team on duty were wonderful and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. The food was very good- good choices and something for everyone. Prices are a bit higher than we might expect but the ambience, decor, friendliness outweighed the extra few pounds. We’ll definitely be back.

Great venue on the river. Super friendly staff and great food. We cycled from Oxford but have also punted. The pie of the week and chicken burger were staff recommendations and did not disappoint.

Popped in for a Christmas lunch - it was a fantastic experience. Mulled wine and a Sunday roast - excellent! It was beautifully decorated and the staff, as always, were great! Planning to come back before New Year!

Went there as a group of 9 for a family reunion.Lovely Pub and part of the Butcombe chain.Great location on the river at Old Marston.Friendly attentive staff and nice food at a reasonable price.Would highly recommend a visit.
