The Spread Eagle
This is my local, but we've only been twice since moving to the village 2 years ago.Better now it's under new management, we ate here and the food was very well presented and tasty. I just wished they had more of a selection on the wine front, but the red I had was very nice, will be returning soon.

We love this quaint pub with separate rooms so that you can have some privacy/get away from screens if you want to. The staff are friendly, chatty and helpful.We go quite often for an evening meal as the price v quality ratio is good. If you like Liver and Onions, they do a very tasty version.The only reason I've given 4 stars instead of 5 is that the meals are not consistently great: we've had some corkers but then last time was a smidge disappointing for my husband - tough pastry. Mine, though, was gorgeous - Liver and Onions! We'll be back.

Stopped here on our bikes... Looking for some food and a pint. Unfortunately they weren't doing food but we managed to sort out a lovely pint for two gold coins... Unfortunately they don't do card otherwise we'd have stayed for more. Have to say we had almost nothing on us and they gave my fiancee a coffee for free. Can't fault that, thankyou, will come again with cash next time!

Recently booked for Sunday lunch at the spread Eagle, we were not disappointed. The food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Staff were very friendly and we had a lovely afternoon in a child friendly environment. Will definitely visit again!

By my reckoning, the Spread Eagle must have been closed for 4 years. What a sad waste of a great pub in an enviable location. I can only hope the brewery manage to find a new manager, but I won't hold my breath.

Fantastic tradition local pub.No mobile phones allowed, just conversation.The bar staff are lovely very friendly, I wish it was our local. We had coffee and a wonderful Sunday lunch, all fresh vegetables and lovely meat .

Pub and grounds are quite nice however.... this is a samuel Smith's pub so leave your taste buds at home. No other branded ales, beers etc are served.... you have been warned!!

Under new management so hope you guys succeed / read the reviewsOnly leaving a review so you can improve the food10/10 for beer and prices.Bought a southern fried burger with chips was £6.95, only got a dry brioche bun + chicken burger , no sauce or salad just plain with frozen chips - very small portion 7/10Pie of the day beef and Stilton £9.95Pie was very tasty 10/10 but small not worth the price and not much bigger than a pork pie, only 1 veg which was carrots ( expected seasonal vegs ) and some chips- very small portionsGravy was insipid -6/10 for mealOverall the food tasted nice but minimal in amount.Not sure if I would buy food again , pending reviews , more so not value for money.A slightly bigger pie, few more chips and more than 1 veg.would be expected for a main meal.Bit of salad , few more chips and some kind of sauce/mayo on the burger.Hand cut chips , not frozen would be a bigger improvement, and would sway me towards eating here more often.
