My sister was stuck in bed for a few days due to delay in delivery of a battery for her essential hoist. We rang in advance to enquire about the delivery of a battery and they said it would be delivered within 48hrs. We proceeded the with purchase based on this timeframe and it didn't arrive. They didn't contact us to update and we had to call them and they assured us it would arrive the following day and it didn't arrive. Yet again we had to call them and they said it would come by a certain time on the Friday and it didn't arrive. We purchased from another company and it was delivered with 24hrs. We called to cancel the order with Shelden and they said they would refund. Telling us if the battery came to keep it. We havnt recieved that refund to this day and we now have 2 batteries when we only need one. £100 worse off avoid this company. Shocking considering that they sell essentail living aids.

I dont really leave reviews but I have to say thiscompany's customer service was brilliant, Fitters delivered the bed on time and assembled without any fuss. Danielle was was really helpful. Would not hesitate in recommending these guys. My 90 year old mum is over the moon. A heartfelt thankyou. Adam

I placed an order, item was showing as in stock and their website states next day delivery for items that are in stock if received before 3pm. More than one week later I had still not received the item and no communication from Shelden Healthcare so I called to chase and was advised that the item was not in stock and they had been awaiting stock since December. I have cancelled the order and am now awaiting a refund.Communication Shelden Healthcare, I understand that we are in the middle of a pandemic but a simple email advising that the item is out of stock would have sufficed.I'm afraid this will be the first and last order I place with yourselves.

My quadriplegic brother rang for advice and help on buying a portable hoist, he explained that he was going away for the first holiday in 33 years (since he broke his neck). He told the sales lady it needed to be tools free assembly and light enough for his female carer to handle easily. It arrived and was completely wrong, incredibly heavy and needed tools to assemble. He rang and advised the customer service representative that it was not what he had been sold by the sales representative and it would need to be returned for a full refund. Shelden charged him £92 for carriage....He rang and they were most unhelpful, he emailed several days ago but has not had a response.Shelden have sold goods that were not fit for purpose and he is now out of pocket.Shame on them

I would not recommend Shelden Healthcare to make a purchase from.I found them quick to make a sale and take your money but then rude, evasive and unhelpful when there were issues.We ordered a very expensive bed for my elderly grandmother, we ticked the box selecting VAT was not applicable (due to her disabled status) but were charged VAT anyway.The bed was expensive enough but then we were charged another £95 for delivery.The bed we purchased online seemed like it was suitable for the operator/patient use of the controls we also spoke on the phone after purchase to the lady in the office about delivery and this was also made clear to her that it was for my grandmother to operate. On the day of delivery, the engineer arrived to assemble the bed and immediately said its more a bed for a carer not patient operated, kept the bed for an hour then called them back to say it was unsuitable and could it be returned, due to the design of the bed grandmother could not operate unaided and the bed lay her flat to turn her which she cannot do so this rendered the bed unusable (this part was not clear on the online advert). It was then we were informed of a cost to collect and a 10% restocking fee – 10% might not seem like a lot but this worked out at almost £1000 on the cost of this bed including wasted delivery & collection fee’s. It is written in small writing obscurely on the advert about the 10% restocking fee but I really think a phonecall on such a large order would be best practice to ensure the bed is right for you and you are aware of the restocking fee. I did call them several times to ask to speak to the manager about this fee and if they could help with replacing with a different bed but they were rude on the phone and manager very evasive and rarely called me back when said he would – weeks chasing phonecalls. On one phonecall he became very aggressive and argumentative on the phone and spoke to me in a manner you should not treat a customer – I appreciate they are a business and not a charity and are in the business of making money but allowing you to order an extremely specific and expensive bed with a 10% restocking fee without checking your requirements in any way even by phonecall to me seems shameful given their customers are mainly elderly and disabled.I just think given the enormous cost of the bed in the 1st place and their 10% restocking fee more time and care should have gone into speaking to you on the phone to ensure this bed was right for your requirements before it was delivered. It just seemed like they went out of there way to make money on the elderly and those that are perhaps not as informed of what they are ordering in the 1st place to sell you something that does not meet your needs. Having since purchased a similar but the right kind of bed from another company that took the time to offer an extensive phonecall & engineer’s visit to assess our grandmothers needs, it made very clear the lack of customer service we received in dealing with Shelden.
