Lovely as always.No matter what time of year we visit it never disappoints.Even if it’s a blustery walk in winter. The openness and freshness is enough to beat any cup of coffee.But summer is when this place really shines, clean and friendly, dog walkers (in selected areas) and families are all well mannered and pleasant to meet.We went beginning of September and it was not busy and the kids still went in the water. Perfect for making those precious family memories

Best beach in the local area, tide doesnt come all the way in, always clean decent parking spots providing you get there early enough. Usually spend a full day here toilets are very clean and open late during summer, some good beach shops and Richies Cafe Bar offering takeout beers and great fish and chips open all day

Beautiful beach. Never been in the summer before, but it's so clean, spacious and.... pretty. A real surprise. We'll deffo go back for a little visit. Traffic was terrible, but there was a forces day parade on.

Lovely sea front with amenities and shops etc very near. Great day out with the kids. There are water play pools all along the front, with fountains etc for kids to play in. The beach is vast when the sea is out, with a lot of room.

An amazing beach with golden sands and lots to do on the massive promenade. It’s a shame that the space for people with dogs is limited to the two extreme sides on such a huge space. Do people really choose to be nowhere near a dog or go on that part of the beach because it’s closest to the amenities?

We walked to the far point where the dogs could run on the beach. They had a great time. We also managed to find some quality ice cream for sale and enjoyed lunch in a quieter spot whilst the kids went off to hit the arcades and rides.

On walking on the beach, I saw a fish that wasn't very meaty at all. Other than that though, it's a pleasant walk on the beach and you can't go too far because the tide was coming in. It looks great when the sea splashes against the wall and my youngest giggled when it sprayed him

A lovely long sandy beach & promenade & busier than the north beach. The beach seemed to be cleaned daily & there are dog walking restrictions in force which I think is always a good idea.

Soft beach, really nice and relaxing, a little rock pool. Has Richie's cafe on the front which you can sit inside, at the top, in front of even on the beach, have a nice drink or even visit the ice-cream parlour next to it, bins dotted about. A little outdoor paddling pool and little showers and has some chalets too. Table tennis and usually volleyball nets up for holidays. Has some toilet facilities too. Don't forget to visit the lifeboat station too.
