About the Business

home | The Ferryboat Inn dates back 300 years and is situated in the North Helford Passage on the waterfront. Surrounded by wooded banks and sloping fields, this is one of Cornwall's most breathtaking locations. The inspiration for Daphne Du Maurier's novel can be found at Frenchman's Creek nearby. The pub's terrace overlooks some of the best views in the South-West, and offers plenty of beach-side seating for long sunny days and warm evenings. In the winter months, you can make yourself at home near our open fire or relax with a drink at the bar. Eating and drinking is central to The Ferryboat Inn where we serve home-made pub classics alongside other delicious food. We have a 'farm to table' philosophy so that nothing comes between you and the produce we serve.

Lovely place to sit and look out over Helford, lots of seating outside if the weather is nice.Fair bit of choice on the menu including lots of gluten free options. Or you can just sit and have a coffee. It's also dog friendly.

Visited for lunch on a ThursdayOrdered Fish and Chips and ScampiThe food was delicious - service was excellentIt was a lovely sunny day - made the most of it by sitting outside. Not too busy but it's popular so you may have to either eat inside or have a slight wait for a table outside (weather permitting). You park up the hill. If you have less-able people you can always drive into the entrance to the car park, go down the hill and drop off / pick them up at the back of the Ferry Boat (try to avoid going down the road to the front of the Inn - it's a very narrow road and quite a drive to a turning point)Always an excellent place to visit. Highly recommended!

Had a lovely lunch with a group of friends and family! Had the Chicken Schnitzel, the portion was fairly big, not as crispy as I had expected it to be, but that was likely due to the butter that ran through from the young potatoes. Also had Sticky Toffee Pudding, my weakness when it comes to desserts - it was super nice that they did replace the clotted cream with ice cream as per my request, loads of caramel sauce that got soaked up quickly!

Last minute visit as a fellow walker recommended this pub. We later drove to the hamlet, parking is up the hill".Luckily a table was available and we were not disappointed. Excellent food Excellent service friendly helpful staff. Good selection of local produce.

Delicious food and friendly staff. I’d recommend the crispy squid and prawns, as well as the fries!in terms of getting to the Inn, I would not recommend driving from Gweek to Helford Passage as our satnav took us down the narrowest roads and we had to reverse back down hills multiple times for cars to pass by. definitely go via a main road instead as it will be much less stressful!

What a beautiful area to visit, sadly the meal of Fish & Chips was not very good in fact we both started to feel sick after a few bites of the fish, the batter was the culprit we think, the chips were so so and the mushy peas were gourgous, service and staff excellent.
