We've just bought our first home using Michael Leighton Jones solicitors, Sarah Hunt dealt with us directly and she was great. Very accommodating and quick to respond. The whole process went very quickly and stress free. Thank You!

Would not recommend this solicitors to anyone at all. Very poor service, not responsive. Dropped me due to taking on another case which was at conflict with mine. Absolute shambles.

Would give this zero stars if I could. Absolute shocking service.I used Michael Leighton Jones Solicitors to sell my property back in mid 2021 which didn't complete until mid 2022, I have never come across such useless people in all my life, everything was such a struggle for myself. I was constantly chasing for answers and progression updates on the sale. The female member of staff in the office answering the phone was very disrespectful and rude over the phone, she was unable to help me herself or transfer me to Gareth Noble who was the solicitor dealing with the sale of my house.Gareth was non existent when I had any queries regarding paperwork not being sent from their end and when I did get a reply over the phone he was very aggressive towards me. I was just going round and round in circles with him. If I didn't keep on to him or make such a fuss I would have lost the sale on my house!PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE NEVER USE THESE! Unless you just want to be messed around and end up sorting most of the things you're paying them to do yourself.

One of the best solicitors in the area. Sarah Price is a fab solicitor and was a great help in a recent case and kept me up to date with all developments. Liz the receptionist is very helpful and welcoming. As for downsides these include that the consultation rooms are upstairs, the interior decor is dated and the cost for the services are expensive especially as legal aid is very limited but this is the same with all solicitors. Also they are happy to set up a payment plan to help pay off the legal fees. Definitely would use again!

Currently going through the same experience as Paul Johnson. Please pay attention to the positive reviews set almost 2 years ago and the more recent 1 star reviews. A clear indication of the direction this firm is heading.Trying to sell our property and found out that our solicitor hadn't completed the process (titles) with the land registry. This should had been completed as soon as the property was purchased. We can't sell the property until this error is fixed. A costly mistake that could potentially lose us 50-60 thousand pounds. If not rectified soon.In terms of communication: You have the same odds as being struck by lightning as you do a response from the solicitor. They are more than happy to take your money but god forbid they actually have to do the work that comes in exchange for it.Average response time from our lawyer 3-7 weeks. & I wish I was joking.

Maybe the communication between solicitors could have been better but apprently this is common place in the industry.They got it done quickly and in time not to pay stamp duty!In the end the job done!

Avoid at all costs. This solicitors has cost us nearly 10k through their slow, terrible service. We were selling a property and our buyer instructed Michael Leighton Jones to act on their behalf. After nearly a year of terrible correspondence and inaction we lost our buyer which has left us in debt. Completely unprofessional and unbelievable in how they conduct themselves.

MLJ are terrible. Gareth, our solicitor, talked a good game when we obtained a quote but then once we were committed communication was non-existent. We were also sent incorrect invoice amounts. It made a stressful experience that much worse. Please consider a better firm or be ready for poor service and poor value.
