Army Flying Museum
One of the best air museums outside of London and better than many within major cities. Unique in that it celebrates specifically the army perspective on aircraft and flight. It has fantastic dioramas, a large and amazing collection of planes, gliders, helicopters and other vehicles and brilliant displays on modern warfare as well a historical walk through with narrative and demonstrations of the historical conditions in key periods of warfare from around the world. It is kid friendly although there are trip hazards on the edges of displays and then within the displays is a lot of barbed wire and nothing to prevent your child falling into it so if you have a very active small child then keep a close eye on them. There is a terrific gift shop, good facilities, a cafe within the museum that looks out onto the airfield behind the museum, it has disability access throughout and is entirely indoors so the perfect thing to do on a rainy day! Lastly, to their great credit, kids go free and if you buy an adult ticket it lasts a whole year for repeated visits!!

Went to Wheels and Wings, great range of cars of all ages, and their very proud owners, of all ages. Not sure what the previous reviewer was expecting around the air display. Was not advertised as an air display (such as Bournemouth) rather planes fly into the ground display area during the event.Saying that, there were flying highlights of the Lancaster (replaced a Spitfire), Swordfish and the Rolls Royce Heritage Flight of Spitfire and Mustang during the day.Nice choice of food (shame no jacket potato seller this year), also numerous drink stalls to choose from.Very well run with volunteers well in evidence.Look forward to next year.

A great find, very well presented and very informative museum. Only negative which is more of a care point, we took our 3 year old and apart from the plane/ helicopter displays he didn’t have the understanding to appreciate the other exhibits, that bending said my wife and I where impressed at the detail and stories brought to life in these exhibits. We will definitely return but probably when he is a little older to fully appreciate what the museum offers.

Absolutely amazing hidden gem! Went here yesterday after looking for something to do with the kids. The exhibitions, interactions, kids activities, soft play area, and park are all amazing! We spent 5 hours and could have stayed more. Cafe is also very nice and helped with dairy allergies. Will definitely be returning and even considering a membership.

A lovely couple of hours letting the youngest member of the family play and enjoy watching the planes/gliders/helicopters etc. Also a chance for a much needed coffee and a slice of tasty cake. Lovely staff in the shop. Just a really nice couple of hours!

Expensive but a pretty good selection of helicopters (with the exception of a missing Apache) - unfortunately the kids were a bit disappointed as all the proper flight sims were not included & cost extra (which was a bit of a Micky take considering the cost of entry). Not bad.
