Great place to take the family ,including grandchildren. Toys provided. Excellent quality food with a luxury touch. Specials give great variety and quality. Super friendly and efficient service. Plenty of parking.

Off the beating track sits a little gem. With great views of the rolling fields. Friendly service and good food. Farm shop has fresh fruit and veg and meat from around the local area. Bedding plants, fruit bushes and trees available to buy. I definitely will be returning.Dog friendlyCycylist friendly, bike pump location.

Our new favourite place! Service was excellent, food was excellent and its especially lovely to sit in the outdoor seating area. We had a cheese and pickle bloomer sandwich with Truffle fries and a Mocha which was delicious! We also tried the freshly squeezed orange juice. My 2year old daughter enjoyed seeing the cows with their little calf’s. Plenty room inside and out for prams and adequate changing facilities for baby. Lots of Parking available. There’s also additional dog friendly seating areas.We can’t wait to go back :)

So stopped for coffee and cake. Place was pretty busy. Ordered eventually after waiting 10 minutes. £14 for two basic coffee's and two cakes. Rather than get it then they told us to take a seat. We sat by choice outside. 25 minutes later after two request to staff we eventually got it. Have to say the smallest piece of cake i have ever eaten.What a rip off place. Terrible service. Won't be back.

Amazing service, even on a very busy sunday, brilliant food with plenty of choice, and a great outdoors bit where dogs are welcome.The stake pie from the shop has fast become our favourite!

Lovely cafe and farm shop, visited for breakfast which was delicious - highly recommend the sourdough stack! Substantial for the price and lovely frothy coffee to go with it. Will definitely be back

** Edited version**Having enjoyed our trip to The Heron the first time we returned a couple of months after. However, this trip was not so wonderful!! The two collies who stay in the house on the property were loose, no collars nothing! The older of the two disappeared but the younger circled my dog (on lead) and myself then tried to nip her back legs a few times. My mum had to go into the gift shop & make someone aware, luckily the woman came just in time as my dog was savaged and pinned to the ground by the collie. I was utterly horrified & shaken never mind my poor dog!!!Would NOT RECOMMEND if you intend on taking dogs or even small children as this could have been so much worse if someone hadn't come to our rescue!!Deplorable behaviour from an animal who is clearly a working dog & not safe to be left loose around other people / animals!!Lovely food in an idyllic setting, amazing gift shop & views

This place was amazing.It is a small hidden gem, not a huge shop for buying goodies but has a good selection. Friendly staff. The coffee and cake we had was Devine. The flake cheesecake is a must to try. WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK
