Worst chip shop I’ve ever been in!!After noticing she had given us vinegar that we never asked for she replaced the order in a temper! Throwing the food down on the counter and banging it around! After she wrapped the food I hadn’t seen her put any salt on! So I asked her if she had put salt on and she snapped “YES” at me!! Once we got back to our lodgings we discovered she had NOT put any salt on as I had suspected and that she had in fact lied to me because she couldn’t be bothered to reopen the bags to add the salt! The pies were all broken due to her throwing them down so hard on the counter! Then worst of all the fish was off and tasted vile!! It was also under cooked!! One bite and it went in the bin! They risk giving people food poisoning and should be shut down! Their attitude was disgusting!!! A complete waste of money!! Never again!!!

Tonight we bought 3 suppers from here. The steak pie was lovely but we were lucky if we got 15 chips. Not happy with it. Paid £14 but with the amount of chips we got was disgusting.

This is an excellent fish and chip shop. As a family we got fish, haggis, black pudding and chips. All were especially cooked for us, which obviously meant a little while to wait but also meant that it all tasted extra good. In fact the crumbed fish was the very best I have tasted for a long while.

Picked up my order from maybole chippy after it being 15 mins late (which wasn’t really an issue) the chips being really dry wasn’t really an issue either but the dead fly was. (Which I can’t seem to post a pic here!)I rang them and explained the situation, they offered to replace it if I drive back! (Ruining the family meal) or a free meal with my next order (as we were in the area for only two nights, that’s no help either) I didnt go into detail or felt the need to but the person who received the corpse in their meal has an eating disorder so there’s no way they will eat from there again.I asked for a refund on the meal and I got told they need to discuss it with staff and will ring me back in 15 mins …. Which surprise surprise never happened!Chance it by all means …

Got 3 fish suppers chips were re heats from don't know when fish was over cooked and tasted like it was bought from a freezer shop was un edible,Wouldn't recommend to anyone

Ordered from here and the server repeatedly got my order wrong, after explaining clearly 3 times.The food was finally served and the wrong condiments were used.The servers remade the food, clearly in a bad mood from a simple mistake, banging and slamming the food, which then caused this to become damaged.I double checked that salt had put on the food, to which the server said yes, but this was a lie. This is a simple issue but as staying in a lodge for the weekend this is not something I could apply once back.Food was average at best but didn't appreciate the bad customer service.

We stopped in for fish suppers - 4 meals in total. Food was cooked from scratch, nothing waiting to be served up until I ordered it, which meant the service was slow - but the food was fresh and delicious because of the wait. I find that some people want fast food these days and even though I can be a little impatient sometimes myself it was definitely worth the extra time. The fish was delicious, the chips were perfect, massive portions to the point I could have easily bought just 2 suppers and split between the 4 of us. Absolutely bangin' food, glad we went here! Definitely would go again if we're ever in the area! It was a total of about 30 quid for 4 people but definitely could have halved that if we'd known how generous the portions are here! Very reasonable prices and a really diverse menu I noticed, too!
