Brooke Park

An old city park which has been recently restored. The whole park is built on a hill, so as you enter by the bottom gatehouse, it's all landscaped with mature trees, pathways and flower beds. Half way up is a pond, a very good cafe with glass walls so you can view the city on one side, and look onto the kids play park on the other. The play park itself is not very big but quite good, with disabled play facilities currently being installed. On the upper half of the park there are grass football pitches, all weather pitches, tennis courts, bowling free. There is a new sports facility with a modern gym and halls which host judo classes, kids irish dancing etc. The older original building nearby has an indoor pitch, badminton courts etc. Plenty of bins and benches along the way. An essential and well done city park.
