Any ISP can setup a working internet connection - It is what happens when the line goes down that sets apart the good from the bad. We purchased a 1GB leased line from AI networks alongside a backup broadband line that is meant to be configured so that if the main leased line goes down, users can continue surfing the web. Most medium to large sized businesses have this.Upon the 1GB leased line and 80mb backup fibre line being activated, the technical team at AI networks had no clue how to actually setup the router they provided so that if the leased line does drop out, the backup fibre line would kick in and cause no interruption to the service. As such, when the lease line dropped out 3 months later, the backup did not work and we lost internet across the entire business. It took an hour to get every computer manually configured onto a different network to get them back online causing a wave of disruption across the business. AI networks have an SLA within their contract and not only did they breach the SLA by not fixing the line in time, they did not even contact us to tell us the line was down in the first place, nor advised us on the progress of a resolution. We had to constantly chase them. A terrible service overall. It took more than 24 hours to resolve the issue, and once resolved, we once again asked them to configure the backup line for automatic failover in the event of another disconnection. They informed us this had been done, but in reality it hadn't... Whilst they had done certain configurations on the router, they hadn't actually activated the port on the router, so if the line went down again, the failover would not work. We discovered this was the case only by calling up AI Networks a few days later, and asking them to double check. Had we not done this, our office would have lost connectivity in the event of another disconnection. After this second attempt at setting up the failover, they finally told us it was configured. Despite this we decided we were going to test this manually ourselves, a 'fire-drill' per se. Fast forward to this evening, a time we have scheduled to manually disconnect the leased line, and ensure the backup line really does activate as promised by AI Networks. Well guess what happened? The backup line doesn't work!AI networks have failed 3 times to configure a backup line. Something that is not rocket science. Furthermore, their communication when the line went down was terrible, nor did they stick to their SLA's.If you are a business that values your time, and you do not wish to trust an incompetent ISP, I highly recommend that you look elsewhere. We will not be renewing our contract at the end of the year, even though another ISP may cost more. I guess the saying you get what you pay for" really is true in this case. Don't be fooled by the cheap prices."
