The Georgian House Sweet Shop

I visited this sweet shop during lockdown. I was fixing my mask as I walked in and I was rudely told to put it on properly and sanitize my hands. Despite this, there was no social distancing and they let far too many people in the small shop. I purchased a few items and the customer service was not polite. When I started to eat the items I couldn't actually eat them as they made me feel sick and tasted like they were made of soap! I will not be returning.

Amy and Abby were both friendly and extremely helpful when serving me with a delightful array of confectionery.

Cracking selection that took me back to my childhood. Utterly bizarre that this business is still cash only though. It's an old fashioned sweet shop that needs to modernise

Traditional sweet shop with a fantastic choice and is reasonably priced. (much cheaper than other sweet shops in town). Staff are friendly and couldn't have been more helpful

Lovely shop. We spent ages making our choices and went to the counter with around £25 worth of sweets only to be told it was cash only. We didn't have the cash to pay for it so the lady took all the sweets off us and sighed that she'd have to put them all back on the shelves now. It is 2023, everyone takes card payments nowadays !

Lovely sweet shop in a lovely town! Such a shame about the rude staff however. Whilst being served by a polite young lady, she mentioned that they were cash only. As I had no cash on me, I asked my mum if she instead had any on her. I would have paid her back afterwards since I’d promised to buy her some sweets (she got quite excited after discovering they sold mint cakes). Another colleague who hadn’t yet acknowledged us said “yeah, thanks mum for my sweets” in a sarcastic tone, before turning her back to us and continuing her work. Just thought this was rude and unnecessary

Big range of sweets, some I haven't seen for years. Prices seems reasonable. The staff weren't very interested in helping.
