If you had asked me a year ago, i would have given them 5 stars. Been going for years but my recent experience has made me think otherwise.(In march) i came for my MOT and they didnt tell me about my exhast, which had been damaged and was hanging off my a shread of metal (only became an issue immediately after the MOT) and they let me drive off with it like that. I then had to go back in to get that fixed, although that then presented more issues, meaning i had to pay more to fix the rest of my exhast. (Going back and forth 3 time) Following that the sheild on the exhast fell off a day later and ive given up going back.In summary, they let me drive off with blantent issues still present without telling me. If i had been told about these at the time, i would have saved alot of time and money.A shame it ended up like this, as the staff are typically really freindly and helpful

Steve and Alison at John Gordon Motors have been looking after our families motoring needs since 2003. My Mother still has the same Punto Vehicle and it's in great condition still thanks to them. An honest and straight talking garage with family values yet good hi tech equipment considering they are not that large a premises. 10/10.

Trustworthy and great customer service. My family have been using them for over 20 years now and they have never let us down. The other day I called round for help with a failed brake light and they changed it on the spot. The bulb only cost a few quid but they waived the charge (although I will make sure they add it to the next main service bill). John W

I've been using this place for over four years now, its everything you want from a local garage. The advise is honest and clear and they are always happy to advise on ways to save money. They don't charge for inspections / investigations and always discuss works and costs before doing anything.I've rarely had to wait more than a few days to book te car in and the almost always turn jobs around in 24 hoursHighly recommendedI'm and experienced motorist with a long history of owning unloved second hand cars ;-)

Always get my MOT here, they always squeeze me in so I don't have to wait too long. Really good service and will be taking my car there for its next service as it will be so much cheaper than the dealership.

The receptionist (who has very limited mechanical knowledge) will ask you about your issue and redirect you towards the correct department. I am someone who has proper mechanical knowledge, I asked for an appointment with an electrician and the receptionist refused! She recommended a mechanical check and when I refused she said u can go to another garage. Horrible.Oh and appointments are booked 2 weeks in advance, so you have to anticipate ur breakdown 2 weeks ago.The gentleman at the garage however is very sweet, knowledgeable and helpful.

Took my car in for an MOT. The receptionist said it should be ready by around 2pm and they would ring if there were any problems. By 4pm I realised I hadn't had any call. Rang to find due to faulty side light car had failed the MOT. Very inconvenient not to be rung! But a man said he would look at the issue that night or the next morning. By 3pm the following day still no word. I rang again only to be told they very busy and would 'try' to look at it that day but no guarantees. When I said I was disappointed they hadn't rung me earlier a woman ranted down the phone about how it was my fault for not bringing my car in for an MOT earlier. She then said they were so busy it could be a week before they could look at it. When I said that wasn't acceptable, I was told to collect my vehicle and they would not redo MOT or try to fix the light. The car had no MOT and I was shocked, especially as I have used John Gordon motors numerous times over the last 20 years- never have I had a problem. Luckily another local garage came to my rescue. Within an hour my car had been looked at, sorted, and sailed through its MOT. Honestly so upset and shocked by the way I was spoken to and treated by John Gordon motors and obviously won't be returning.

They are very helpful and they make sure it’s easy for you to drop your car off and pick it up after work, so you can get with your day.
