The atmosphere would have been better with more people and perhaps some music!

One star taken off for the 20 min wait, one for the price of spring rolls. Another for quantity & with no meat at all. The two stars are for the friendliness of the staff.

Stunning building and friendly staff. We had a table of 7 who all ordered different dishes. To create a more cosy atmostphere they are now situated where Bar Jack's was to the right entrance but was great, clean tidy and suprisingly a nice feel. The food came quickly, hot and tasted lovely, we all agreed to book again in the before Christmas and in the New Year.

The food is excellent and the place is massive, prices are high and the portions size is not the biggest so I don’t think you get a value for money but I understand the pricing as they have to afford to keep this huge space running, we had to wait about 5 min to get somebody to allocate us a table as on the reception entrance there was nobody, when somebody finally arrived they were friendly and helpful, they don’t have a drinks menu so you cannot check the prices and the selection, they have a wine menu which is a bonus, overall the food was brilliant but if you’re on a budged then I will not recommend it.

Mr Chu's was once a Hull institution that everyone loved, including John Prescott, the Deputy Prime Minister at the time.Sadly, those days are gone. When we arrived, only one small section was open because we where one of only two sets of diners. Shortly after that, we where the only diners. The section was on the bottom floor, meaning that the new flood defences blocked the once fabulous views of the Humber. If they had seated us on the floor above, we could have seen the view.Given the lack of diners, the service was excellent apart when it came to paying and the card reader wouldn't work leading me to scramble through wallet and pocket to get the cash, fortunately I had it with a pound a spare. The food was edible, that's about as a good as review as I can give.I do genuinely feel sorry for the owners and staff, this was a great place but I guess with the cinema nearby closing, passing trade has died a death.

We had a lovely meal at Mr Chu this evening. Opening hours are clearly marked on the business page on Google. We called and booked a table but they had plenty of space if you just wanted to walk in. it was really excellent service, we couldn’t fault it, with all of the staff being friendly and efficient. I went with my husband and son for an end of month payday treat. We had the banquet for two and a chicken chow mein. It was ideal for our son to try a little bit of everything. There was plenty of food and we couldn’t finish it. It was excellent value for money. Overall, a lovely experience.

What was once a stunning restaurant with great views of the River Humber but now all you get is a lower tier section that allows you to see a concrete river defence concrete wall,The menu was massive but due to the lack of customers, only 10 in total on our visit you actually do wonder how fresh produce is?We were presented with prawn crackers, they looked old and weren’t crispy, a No No for starters. All meals tasted the same and sauces were very weak tasting, no presentation, just thrown on a plate. Then when it came to payment the card machine had issues, one of the other parties weren’t given the option of using the card machine and as they didn’t have sufficient cash were told to go to a nearby cash dispenser.Fortunately when it came to our turn to pay the card machine worked perfectly. However due to the experience of the evening we will definitely not be going back again.

I went for a quiet meal with two friends and my partner for my birthday. Lovely surroundings, lovely view and very hospitable host and staff. Prompt service. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent choice of food all beautifully cooked and presented. Excellent value and I was given a bottle of wine as a birthday gift. I would definitely recommend. The future looks good for Mr Chu and his restaurant. Lots of plans ahead for his restaurant.
