The Highlander
Sunday Lunch was excellent, well prepared vegetables and meat. Smart decor and tables not squashed together. Only downside was we requested mustard and it never came.

First time visit on a Friday night. The service was good but could be more friendly and inviting. It was all a bit matter of fact! A smile would help!Food was mainly traditional pub food, which would have been lovely but wasn't hot enough for me. I think it had been standing waiting for the hot chips to be added...It's a big, airy place but for me, it still lacked atmosphere even though it is well decorated.Overall a pleasant experience but not wowed by it.

We excitedly booked to go to The Highlander as it has just re-opened.I wish we hadn’t. It’s lost all character and appeal. It’s definitely not the kind of pub you can pop into for a pint. All character has been stripped away. It’s like a fancy restaurant now, but the food isn’t even very good. So sad.

Attended the pre-opening party last weekend. The staff were highly trained and attentive. The food was appetizing and beautifully l presented. The decor has been extensively renovated and was comfortable. There are both tables and booths to choose from. There is a separate dining room that also has a television. All-in-all I think they've done a fab job. Best of luck in your new endeavor.

So glad this place is back open. Popped in on our way up to Kielder and was not dissapointed with the new look and menu. Sausage and mash was fantastic.

My husband and I turned up, without a booking and they were very accommodating. Staff were friendly, food was delicious and the decor of the place was very stylish. Lovely place and will definitely be returning again soon.

Lovely meal, first time we’ve been in since reopen but we’ll definitely be back. The refit is perfect for the building, and the seating is really comfortable Good selection on menu and served quickly (but not too quickly) by very cheerful staff. Glad to see attention to detail; fabulous wine glasses. Parking at door could do with some gravel as especially wet at the moment

Ate here for the first time since reopening. Yes it is not the Highlander of old but a change was needed. The decor is unfussy but quality and welcoming. The staff were attentive and friendly and the food was delicious . It is great to have somewhere local for us that we can use again. We will certainly be back.
