River Windows have just completed the work on my home property and from quotation to installation, they were faultless. They took time to show us all of the options when quoting to make sure we got the specification we wanted, communication throughout was excellent and the installers did a cracking job within the estimated time for installation.Couldn't be more pleased - would highly recommend.

River Windows provided an excellent and efficient service fixing my back door. They came out quickly, made adjustments, and fixed everything- i would recommend this firm to anyone who needs good quality windows or doors with a great after sales service.

A word of caution for anyone searching for a window fitting company. Do not use River Windows in Bexhill. Although the initial sales chap was absolutely lovely and the time frame very quick, I came home after the window in our freshly painted nursery had been replaced to find around 13 pieces of damage, dropped mastic and a puncture in the wall in our hallway. The owner apologised over the phone but told me they are not responsible for any damage. I pointed out that 14 pieces in total was not reasonable at which point the conversation turned personal and the owner questioned my attitude, mimicked me and asked if I get away with speaking to my husband in the way I spoke to him. After getting into contact with trading standards, the original sales rep came over to have a conversation and told us that the owner would start legal proceedings for non payment. The battle continues but save yourselves time and go to another company. Shoddy work.

I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy! The door initially looked fine but after many problems with the door dropping and the frame moving, we discovered that the 'made-to measure' frame and door was actually too small for the gap. I called to have it repaired once the door frame had virtually fallen out. After having to pay upfront for the repair, it took many phone calls and three visits to eventually have it 'fixed' so that I now have a cracked frame, a missing screw, I can see daylight through the edge of the doorframe and the whole thing is basically held in place with sloppily applied foam filler. Below is a picture of the finish that I was left with.

Would not recommend this company at all.Have had to have them back on many occasions to fix problems. They say they are coming out on a certain days and times then call to say not coming or just don't turn up. Have had to have handle replaced on a window , a window replacement which I'm still waiting for as did not turn up when they said they would. Knocker gone rusted on door. All cement around windows have had to be replaced twice.Avoid this company.

After getting quotes from different companies to replace all windows in our house (8 windows in total plus a new front door) we went with River Windows as they were not only the best priced but also the most helpful and least pushy. It’s been around 5 months since the original quotation and works just finished today as there were a few delays with the door and also one of the windows (understandable given Covid and Brexit) however we are really pleased with the quality of the windows and door, the fitters were friendly and knowledgeable and also were very tidy and cleaned up everywhere at the end of each day. Thanks to everyone at River Windows for the work you’ve done, would recommend to anyone else needing this type of work doing.

Excellent service. I'm very happy with the quality of both product and fitting of my new door. The office staff were friendly and the fitters took great pride in their work.

We hired River windows early January this year.It has been 2 months already and the receptionist always tries to delay the job for some reason. The prices are far too high for what they offer .The job is still not finished and they always have some silly excuses every week.As soon as they get your money it is so easy to lie and to disregard you.Avoid if haven`t already paid.Would not trust and would not recommend.Irresponsible...

Part I - October 2017. The job was fitting a second front door to enclose the porch. My feelings about firm were positive at the end of our first meeting, so much so that I didn’t haggle over the price (£907) or get other quotes. We agreed that the door would be centred to align with the existing front door and that the PIR sensor for the light in the porch needed to be moved outside the new door. The need to centre the door was also discussed with the River Window’s surveyor who came some days later. As the fitters were leaving I noticed the door was fitted to one side . The salesman returned and blamed the fitters for not asking us where we wanted the door. And in subsequent email correspondence, the manager wrote, “The paperwork does not identify the exact location of the door and the installer made the decision to site it off-centre.”I don’t know how the double glazing industry works, but as a customer I found the blame game unappealing and especially when told the fitters would be required to re-position the door without payment. In fact, by the time this was said it felt like the salesman was using emotional pressure. The good news was, River Windows accepted that the work was not what we had expected and accepted it needed to be redone at no cost to us.The new door did not clear the light fitting in the porch. River Windows claims that the salesman and surveyor had warned of this. My wife and I don’t recall being told this. And if we were told, why weren’t we advised of the maximum depth for a new light fitting. We were told we needed to move the PIR sensor and we had someone in to do this before the fitting. You decide; would we not have had the light fitting changed at the same time as the sensor had we known that the new door would not clear the light’s glass protector? An alternative to re-positioning the door would have been fitting a double-glazed panel where there was a large sheet of plastic to the side. The salesman quoted £195 for this alternative, and this was after claiming the fitters woud not be paid! And when I pressed on the cost, the salesman spoke about the price of toughened glass. After he had left I went on-line and got a quote for a double glazed panel with toughened glass for the infill. This came to £21.60 including VAT and delivery. We were left with the impression that River Windows sought to profit from their mistake rather than making amends to a customer they had inconvenienced. After toing and froing, the options the company suggested were:1. Resite the door centrally free of charge.2. Fit a glazed sidepanel to side of the door at an additional cost of £155.00 incl VAT3. We obtain glass from another supplier and River Windows fit it for £96.00 incl VATGiven the cost of a new door and its fitting came to £907 before any haggling or competive quotes, and the claims that fitters would not be paid, we decided not pay any more money to this company. One of the fitters returned and repostioned the door. If he was peeved at having to do so, he didn’t make this known. He was cheerful and pleasant throughout, which is what has made my rating three-star rather than two. Finally, when I advised River Windows during the negotiations that I would post feedback on my experience, one of the people I spoke with said this amounted to emotional blackmail, even though I had provided the names of several companies that I had recently given five-star reviews to.Updated July 2018. The door leaked some months ago. The firm didn't charge for putting this right. However, I have reduced the stars from 3 to 1 following further disappointment with this company. The knocker on the door they installed began to tarnish after about six months. When I contacted them about this, they agreed to replace for free but1) When I went to collect the new knocker, it had the wrong fitting for our door.2) River Windows were only prepared to supply the model fitted. Clearly this is not suited for a coastal environment and they want me to pay for one that is fit for purpose.

We have had new windows, restoration of a small conservatory and a new conservatory done by River Windows. The same fitters did all of the jobs and so there was continuity throughout. River outsourced for builders and electrician but I have to say all workman were professional, courteous, polite, helpful and tidy. All of the work was done to a superb standard taking into account the affordability aspect. In addition, the work was undertaken to the predicted timescale despite the apalling weather, that we had for the majority of the time they were doing this work. Particular thanks to Alan and Chris and thanks to River Windows. Would we use again? Yes most difinately.
