Whitmore Reans Post Office

This is my local post office and, apart from the fact that there is usually a queue, I have only ever had positive experiences. The women here all work well despite being under way more pressure than your average UK office. They have to deal with all sorts of complicated bureaucratic matters and are so incredibly capable and calm. My only concern is staff safety and the fact that there so often seems to be only one woman working alone.

Premises could be improved but staff is tip top efficient and professional.

I would have rated 0 if that was possible. Rude staff, those women look like you are an annoyance just coming to the Post Office. They open late and close early. Waiting times are a joke. They don't take your parcels inside immediately just tell you to leave them at the counter. When you say you are worried someone may take them (taken the location on top of that) they just tell you don't worry" dismissively. They don't give you receipt automatically so when you wait for one they look at you like WHAT ELSE? until you say specifically "Can I have a receipt

Never open until 5pm despite what opening times say. I.e. Got here at 16:36 today and the shutters were down. Very annoying and inconvenient for people who work.

I am discusted with this post office last week it was really cold it was 5 minutes to 4pm they wouldn't let me in to return a parcel which would have taken two minutes cause it was packed and had return labels on them. Yesterday 6th May I was outside the post office with my parcel at 3.45pm the Asian lady refused to let me in and I was fuming i'm in a wheelchair it's hard enough as it is for me to carry my parcels I was knocking on the door she was ignoring me and my support worker which is not acceptable my support worker told her I was getting my return labels and would be there in 5 mintues she still reufussed to let me in. It's easy for her she is able to walk they need to be more helpful. I've been told by family members she's rude and has an attitude she used to be nice to me but I think lockdown has got to her head. This post office is to help people they should be closing at for not 20 minutes early people have work and rush there and end up annoyed with the behaviour they recieve. This Post Office needs to have more staff who are friendly & can help the disabled and elderly people. I was really annoyed and sad because of this treat people how you'd like to be treated that to RESPECT IS THE WAY FORWARD!

Very poor customer service. Doors was locked 5 minutes before 5pm closing time.

Well as far as Post Offices go, it's not excitement of the century.There's enough parking around, and you'll get the usual services typical of a Post Office, but there's always room for improvement.The owners need to be more customer focussed especially as there's at least three or four other P.O within a two mile radius.They must avoid argumentative situations and let people know their hours so they don't have their time wasted.Moreover, even if the customer is'nt always right, no one some appreciates being offered something they didn't ask for, and if it's pointed out to the counter clerk, it's not vital that the clerk have the last word, or any one for that matter.They should also be more prepared to go the extra mile. I am use to P.O being open until 5.30 not 4.50 or if the mail van has already collected from the. post box outside. If they're not doing the traditional things, they might as well pack up if they are finding it hard going.
