Salt Bar Pizza Grill
So pleased we popped in this evening! We drove through Maldon and this restaurant looked lovely. The manager kindly squeezed us in to eat at the bar, they were fully booked.Great atmosphere, very busy so people obviously love it there!Food was excellent, service was friendly, little bit slow but understandable on a busy Saturday night.Definitely recommend this restaurant, we'll be going back soon!

Very welcoming staff and lovely atmosphere. My go to is the Essex pizza and the burrata which is absolutely amazing, my girls love the penne al pollo. Quality of food is fantastic. My mum had the scampi risotto and she said it was very good. The tiramisu on the other hand is to die for. Beautiful dessert.

12oz RibEye. Just buy it! Best steak I’ve ever had. Compliments sent to the chef. With a bottle of Mirano 2019 Rioja it’s the perfect meal. If you want appetisers then try the cheese garlic bread and polenta chips.

Where to start, it's nice that Maldon has somewhat an authentic Italian but it's more commercial flashy pazzazthen anything else, just like Paparazzi, if you want Authentic Italian I would suggest Luigi's for their friendly staff, real cooking, overall Italian atmosphere and intimate experience.After that epilogue, it was my birthday and someone else's and we booked 12 people and told them this week's prior, when we got to our space we was one table short so they put a round table at the end as they were running short on 1x1 tables.We order our food fine, starters, drinks and mains the staff were very attentative, anything you could ask for, the Front of House staff and waiters excellent service.So we get our food and some had ordered pizzas and some had ordered pastas, we was told pasta was fresh but it felt like it was more water based pasta and the pizza was mid at best, good quantity but fell apart as soon as I picked it up.Our main issue and gripe was the heating in there, there were 4-5 air conditioning units in there, it was a 26 degree day, evening now so must of been 23⁰c- 24⁰c. We were sweating and non of the air condition units where on, it made eating the food uncomfortable as the food was warm in itself. We did ask if they would turn the air conditioning on and their response was sorry we can't because the front doors are open". Well then why not open them then? There was an air condition unit by the front door? It made the whole experience uncomfortable and not fun and we didn't stay for desert because of it and wasn't offered and apology or explanation considering the size of our party.Also we calculated our costs between 12 of us and divided it by 12 and still had a 10% excess charge

Down from Scotland visiting my sister and had a great lunch here today! Food was amazing! Staff were all great but Torrance, our server, was absolutely lovely, great personality and was nice and chatty! Keep up the good work Torrance, it was really nice meeting you today!

Came here on our first visit and absolutely loved it - food brilliant, service from a young girl and boy brilliant and the atmosphere was good. However we have since visited twice and had awful service. I never ever leave bad reviews hence not leaving one after the first bad visit hoping it was a one off but after receiving the same bad service from the same man on the second occasion and speaking to others who have had the same experience I felt the need to.The tall, older, bald man was very abrupt and judgmental over one of our parties’ food choices. When we asked for parmesan on our pasta, he rolled his eyes and said ‘it’s already got some in the dish, you’ll make it too salty’. We eat Italian food a lot and we definitely don’t need to be told how to eat our food. The funny thing is the same dish then needed salt as it was quite bland. He then kept hovering over us while eating and tried to take a plate away when my nephew was still eating his pizza. There was absolutely no welcoming feeling from this man on both occasions which is not the usual experience from Italian restaurants, who usually go above and beyond and treat you like you are in their home!Such a shame as a big Italian food lover and someone who travels around to try different Italian restaurants I was so excited to have another place to make a regular as it is nearby to where we live but we will not be returning :(

Popped in for lunch on Sunday afternoon, decor is beautiful and done to such a high standard. Myself and my son had the seafood linguine and my husband had a pizza, the pasta was delicious and there was so much seafood in there , for dessert I went for tirimisu which again was delicious . Staff were fab, attentive but not over the top! The only downfall and the reason it’s not 5stars is because you only serve 175ml by the glass wine and it’s a bit of a bug bear of mine… I would have much preferred a 250ml glass. Will definitely be back , excellent addition to maldon high street. Reasonable prices.

Came last night with friends was really looking forward to it as it looked from the decor to be a really nice restaurant but that's where it ends! The service was terrible!! Staff were just not interested in serving we had to shout 3 times to order our food. Brought 2 starters but didn't bring the other 2 we had to ask for them!! My chicken tagliatelle was awful so very dry with hardly any sauce and lacking ingredients! Staff so unattentative. The quickest thing that came last night was the bill!! We asked for the 10% service charge to be taken off by the tall older guy others have mentioned as not good on reviews but he wasn't really interested in why we were unhappy he apologised and said 'would you like a drink on the house'. We said yes but before we could order drinks of our choice he stuck 4 very small limoncello on the table which you normally get in Italian restaurants anyway!! Hence we told him to take them away. Will not be visiting here again!! Far better restaurants than this.
