Huddersfield Thespians

tried to be a member of this theatre organisation twice but I found some of the thespians" a bit "cold" and the other people who work behind the scene were somewhat "standoffish". they were not enthusiastic about a new person starting and seemed to stick together in groups. what Huddersfield needs is perhaps a more modernised and embracing drama group which does drama activities as well as putting on plays."

Theatre company producing excellent plays at the Lawrence Batley Theatre.

A very friendly and welcoming theatre group situated North of Huddersfield Town centre in an old Mill. It is set on the first, second and third floor with a Set Building Workroom, Props Room, Rehearsal Spaces and a hugely stocked Wardrobe. There is space for Parking which is shared by other companies on the premises. The Theatre Group uses Lawrence Batley Theatre as the Performance Area. The Group has approx. 4-5 Productions a Year which range from Plays to Sketches. Meetings are held every Monday evening 7:30-10:00pm with additional days for rehearsals. Membership cost goes towards materials, upkeep of the premises and theatre rates - you don't need to pay this on your first visit if you find the group is not for you. It simply goes towards running the Group :)
