Old Bridge House
In 2018 I lost my dear Mother to suicide. As time passed following her death my own health went further into decline (Depression and PTSD) and I was referred to the NHS Psychotherapy teams stationed at Old Bridge House for CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and trauma counselling. With their guidance, sessions and support both inhouse and via the phone I have come to terms with my PTSD diagnosis and its symptoms. I now no longer feel like my recovery is an uphill struggle and I have learned through their teams and my appointed CPN Community Psychiatric Nurse (name withheld for confidentiality purposes) to use coping skills that 'keep me in the now' whenever I have dips in my mood through dwelling on the past and in particular memories of my Mum's disappearance and the findings delivered at her inquest. Life has to go on and in her more healthier days my Mum would have been the first to point this out.I can say with 100% certainty and honesty that the NHS Psychotherapy teams stationed at Old Bridge House here in Derry and elsewhere in Northern Ireland / UK quite literally put people back together again following trauma, loss and the associated mental ill health diagnoses that come from it all.Google only allow a 5 star maximum for their ratings and reviews (for now) but if I could give the NHS Psychotherapy teams stationed at Old Bridge House here in Derry and/or elsewhere 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 or 1000 stars I would. We need more investment and funding for these teams to continue and expand on the vital treatment they provide to all members of our communities.Thank you.Sincerely.Louis P.
