Trumpington Medical Centre

I have just registered to this GP practice as my new to the area. The receptionist was very friendly when explaining how to register. I did it online and was registered within a few days.I did an online consultation as I needed to see a GP, I was booked in and had an appointment 3 hours after doing my consultation request.My GP appointment was late by 40 mins but the GP did not rush me and took the necessary time with me when it was my turn.I am not sure why some reviews are bad as for me the process was super smooth and all the staff were lovely (receptionist and doctors). I am glad I went ahead and registered there.

I’m surprised by the other reviews as I have never had a problem getting to speak to a Doctor or receiving my repeat prescription. I fill in the online form and then I get a response from the surgery, whether it be to tell me my prescription has been sent to the pharmacy and when it will be ready to collect, a date and time for an appointment they have booked for me or a date and time a Doctor will call me to discuss my concern. Thankfully I’ve found it as simple as filling in a form and haven’t had the hassle of calling constantly. Granted online isn’t for everyone but it is the way it’s done these days.

Absolutely disgraceful.A total embarrassment to the NHS.A perfect example of a privately owned G.P surgery.13 minites of ringing to be told Thank you for wasting your time ringing our phone number, we will now fob you off to another online form...they do 'pointments and 'quiries...And the doctor MIGHT ring you back sometime in the next 24hrs.Disgusting.

Despite placing a repeat prescription in good time, they failed to sign it in time for when I ran out, and this is essential medication, without which my health deteriorates rapidly. This is the second time it has happened. I phoned only to be told that the meds were ready for collection at the pharmacy - they weren’t. This practice is utterly broken.

Giving one only because i can’t give zero. The 5* review clearly is about Sally, the nurse who I am sure is lovely but the surgery is a joke. They stopped giving any appointments at all. It is impossible to call them and when you go there they most likely not going to let you in without appointment. We sneaked in as the door was open and we approached the receptionist to arrange an appointment that doctor herself requested in 2 weeks time. It is needed so my husband can get repeated prescription. No appointments for weeks. One - literally one slot available for mid-January. The receptionist couldn’t be ruder when we just stopped for a minute and were thinking what to do and she seemed completely oblivious to the fact that the phone was ringing constantly all the time I was there. Her colleague was also ignoring calls. When I asked about that I have been told “it is ringing constantly from 8-4” - perhaps if they started answering it would stop? The other issue we have with this surgery is the fact that they keep changing my husband’s dose but keep the same drug and they can’t seem to find solution that would stabilise him. They put him on drug that is causing him headaches but they are relentless in keeping him on it. Interestingly - I got the same drug and my friend too. Each of us has completely different issues with blood pressure. I work in pharma and know there are tons of blood pressure drugs but this surgery only seems to know one and despite my husband telling them is not right for him they insist on that one drug and not even trying other options . Completely useless surgery. Lacking training, knowledge and the basic empathy. Perhaps individuals are good but I am yet to meet one. If they are understaffed? - possibly, do they even care at all - don’t think so.

Been trying to ring Clay Farm which is open since 8.30am this morning 15/1223 still getting voicemail. Joke! Really not amused as my pain levels are the highest they've ever been!

Clay Farm GP, which is a branch of Trumpington Medical centre, has been excellent in my experience. They have a clean, modern practice on the second floor of the Clay Farm centre. The online booking service seems to work very well once you try it and the practice calls back promptly if you need to speak or see someone that day. The reception staff, nurses and Gps have all been professional and helpful.Some of the reviews here seems very negative but having used the practice 4 or 5 times over the last few years I think they are doing an excellent job. Strongly recommended.

The GP surgery is very good, I'm not sure what all the fuss is about! I've only once had any trouble getting someone seen (In a household with 3 kids!) And even then the issue self-resolved. The receptionist can be a little hit-or-miss but the doctors and nurses are very reliable and any problems get swiftly resolved. As long as you use the right methods for what you need (or you manage to get the receptionists to explain to you how, first) it's usually quite simple and easy really. Best surgery I've used so far.

Very rude and unhelpful staff when you call. Unable to get my medication for a week. Going to be making a formal complaint. I send a request online for my medication last week and no response called twice in one day. The lady hang up on me. And told me to request again online but I have ran out of the medication.

Horrible place with doctors" what they do have a knowledge using a Google. Instead of face to face appointment they do the phone appointment or sending a text message when not able to even ask about something or reply and how it can help? I don't recommend this place to everyone."
