I have been coming here for almost 10 years and there’s very good reason for this. Alban is an absolute delight. Brilliant at his job, very competitively priced and utterly charming to each and every customer he deals with. I have recommended so many people to come here; young, old, male, female and he never fails to please.

I’ve been going to The Retreat for years. I love the hairdresser Alban. He’s one of the few people who can blow dry my hair beautifully straight so that it lasts (my hair is very curly!) and he does great highlights too. He’s a lovely man, a great hairdresser, extremely patient and charges reasonable local prices. I can’t recommend Alban or the salon highly enough…

A fantastic salon! Best in the area. Don’t go anywhere else. Alban’s such a brilliant and professional hairdresser, colourist and stylist I couldn’t recommend him more highly. All the staff are very polite and helpful and do their utmost to ensure a one hundred percent positive and satisfying experience. I highly recommend.

Our whole family have been going to Alban at The Retreat for the last 10 years. Even though we moved out of East Finchley we still go to The Retreat for our haircuts and hair colouring because of how good his hairdressing skills are. Alban is so professional, friendly and great value for money. I highly recommend Alban as a hairdresser!

The Retreat is a beautiful, professionally-run salon in the heart of East Finchley. As a customer for nearly six years, I have seen how the owner is caring, personable, and vigilant with customers from all backgrounds and ages. He remembers our preferences and the results are beautiful. On a related note, the salon is immaculate, well-ventilated, and there is always the offer of a cup of tea or coffee. Have been going here for the past 10 years the wife has been going since 1990 and even though moved away from London I still bring m wife up at least twice a month to have her hair done the owner is very polite, considerate and always cheerful and loves banter, he can give as much as he can take. Hope this owner has a long career. He works very hard and long hours
