Great little nature reserve with a nice circular walk around it. A few bird hides for those who enjoy spotting. Some deer in the grounds too but we never saw any.£2 parking by app or donation which is reasonable as its free entry. Helpful staff at the visitor entrance hut telling you what and where to look for the birds.Great just to get outside for a bit of a stroll.

Do talk to the kind staff at the entrance. After she talked about the dragonflies, we had a very pleasant experience with this beautiful creature. Trouts, crayfish and a splash made by water vole also built a wonderful trip.

Visited the reserve in March 2023, there are a selection of short a few hundred metres and long walks a few km. There is a £2 charge for parking either as a cash donation or paybyphone app. Single toilet on site by the visitors office. Otherwise it is free entry if walking or cycling in, with some metal bike racks buried in the ground

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see many birds. We went during Spring (April) in the evening, and it was raining a bit -- maybe that had something to do with it.Regardless, go for the peace and quiet walk. There were only 6 other people we encountered in the entire walk. It was so lovely!

Beautiful nature reserve. I regularly visit this place and in my opinion, it’s best to visit late afternoon or evening as there are more chances to see birds and other wildlife.I still couldn’t see Kingfishers, but I have other birds and deer. The site has three hides to secretly see the wildlife. My favorite is Reedbed Hide.

Lovely hidden gem. Rare geological feature creating a lovely wildlife haven. We'll placed hides and good paths.

Very special place. I felt very lucky to have seen a barn owl roosting during my afternoon walk. The illustrations in the hides were just great to see as I moved around the reserve

This is a hidden gem, you can visit throughout the day and you will always spot something. The staff are very helpful and you can use a buggy on the paths. The streams are crystal clear and it is maintained well.It is worth getting RSPB membership as it is paid parking but with a member this is free.

A beautiful relatively small reserve with one main circular around it with hides at various points. The most unexpected aspect is the natural spring feeding a small clear chalk stream. It's a reminder of what all our chalk streams could be like. Worth it just for that.

This feels like a special place. The habitat has been well preserved and it's nice to sit by still flowing clear water and listen to the wind blowing through the reeds. We never see many birds here - there's not a huge flock wading in a lake. They are in the rushes and you can hear them in the trees - lovely to hear the turtle doves purring all over the place. It's a peaceful and relaxing walk.
