A great little stop on your way around historic lancaster, especially alongside the judges lodgings! For just £1 you can see how the less well off made a life for themselves and for a further small fee, compare it to the extravagance of the wealthy judges home.

A great little cottage / museum showing Victorian life. Really cheap entry. Limited opening hours I believe.

Lovely little museum just opposite Lancaster Castle, entrance is £1.The place shows how home life was for the not so wealthy people in Victorian England, they showcase original pieces of furniture and they've reconstructed it to seem live in.Definitely worth a visit if passing by, especially with kids.

On a visit to Lancaster Castle we happened upon this stunning little museum just across from the castle. The minimal £1 entry fee was just too much of a bargain not to take advantage of.This lovingly restored 300 year old cottage was a real insight into how people lived in the victorian era. It really took you back in time and gave a real feel of how people lived.Any questions we had were answered by the passionate and knowledgeable man who welcomed us.I would recommend this truly educational delight to anyone visiting Lancaster.A real treasure.

Absolutely fascinating little museum. So happy I went inside and filmed for my history channel. Very pleasant guide, very helpful even though it was very busy.
