Leaping Salmon
I was hungry and ordered the chicken breast with peas and chips. The disappointment when I've seen my plate with the smallest chicken breast ever, not even 70 grams for £10.40. I will not return nor recommend it to anyone.

Leaping Salmon
Just popped in. It is technically dog friendly according to all the signs but the layout is more like a restaurant, so made me feel uneasy about sitting anywhere with our two big dogs. Had a couple of real ales in which is great to see. Would definitely go back but not with our dogs (our issue here, not there's, but we know our boys can be very excitable). Didn't have food but the layout is very much encouraging food to be served at every table. Maybe next time when we don't have the dogs.

We had a good walk to get to the pub. Both our meals were very good, the staff were very helpful. Really enjoyed it a good pint now really looking forward to the walk back.

By chance, I passed the Leaping Salmon and went in for a beer.Glad I did. Very nice atmosphere, comfortable seating and a very good selection of beers at extremely reasonable prices.I had Doom Bar on draught, which was excellent and obviously well looked after.The pub is popular with locals, which is always a good sign.A small but important point... There is an area with a pool table but it is well separated from other seating.Special mention of, and thanks to, Amanda. A very professional, helpful, and friendly person who is a credit to the place and with whom it was a pleasure to talk.

Leaping SalmonStonegate Pub CompanyManaged pub.Stonegate bought the Leaping Salmon from JD Wetherspoon in 2017. It's a highly visible pub at the end of the high road bridge into Berwick-upon-Tweed.It's anodyne, boring, clean and tidy. Staff are good, and overworked.A pint of Timothy Taylor's very well looked after and well served. Club Sub sandwich and waffle fries competently done. My friend who invited me paid £28 for the two of us... Including drinks. Pretty good value these days.Why JDW sold it is beyond me. Why Stonegate bought it is beyond me. Why these behemoth pubcos can't do anything interesting is beyond me. There was barely anything worth taking photos of. It's amazing. They're just places for people to walk into and have some drinks and, maybe, food and, maybe to have a chat. So dull. So uninteresting. So unlike what proper pubs are all about

Ordered 4 meals on the app. Food served quickly and was good portion size and quality. On our visit seemed short staffed and table clearing was slow

Wetherspoon chain. Wonderful sport bar: lots of screen and the area with an individual screen at the table. Reasonable price and various drinks promotion. Great location by the river service is nice and fast. Fish and chips was really nice. unfortunately, Steak was overcooked. We were there two nights in a row that says it all....

Lovely staff, really nice people and chatty. The set-up for live sports is amazing. This place is perfect to watch sports and get a drink... Worst veggie breakfast I've ever had though. My mate had the same but non-veggie, also awful.
