Allestree Building & Landscaping

Am very happy with the recent repair work carried out on my rendering. Aaron and George were very informative and knowledgeable about the process and the products they used. I have asked for further quotations for future work I am planning. They are friendly and polite and I am looking forward to them carrying out further work on my property.

We received a quote on the 3rd September 2022, by the then named Blenheim Building and Maintenance Ltd. Work began on 14th November 2022 and was completed on 16th December 2022. We were initially delighted with it.However early in 2023 we noticed several slabs were loose and the rendering to the side of the patio was falling off. On the 1st June the now called Allestree Building and Landscaping Ltd (same people) arrived and relaid the loose slabs, completing the task on 2nd June 2023. The rendering was planned to be repaired at a later date. When we reviewed the relaid slabs we found horrendously substandard workmanship (see images). There were large differences in height between adjacent slabs and wildly varying gaps between the slabs, some with no gap at all.To date, approximately 75% of the slabs are loose, with evidence that the mortarbed is disintegrating and the rendering continues to fall off. In addition, the grouting is also coming out. It has since been pointed out to us by two independent professional landscapers that the patio is not layed in a way to allow rainwater to run off correctly.The patio now needs to be completely removed and relaid. We have asked for some compensation. This request has been ignored.We would advise anyone who employs this company to be extremely wary and if engaging their services to monitor their workmanship closely.

I was pleasantly surprised that they came when the weather hadn’t been good just before. They did a great job of the fence and tidied up afterwards. Happy with the job.

Allestree Building and Landscaping (or Blenheim Building and Maintenance as they were formally known) have done an appalling job of our patio. The attached photos say it all but to list just a FEW issues:- 90% of porcelain slabs are loose and can be lifted up by hand.- Rendering has all fallen off on the steps. Since speaking to other landscapers we now know this is because they failed to create an overhang over each step.- The levelling of the patio and steps is wrong - huge puddles of rain water sit on top of the slabs. Again, other landscapers have since confirmed the entire patio is laid incorrectly.- Horrendous finishing in general.- Rendering that has stayed on is patchy and poor quality.Firstly it is important to point out that the work was carried out in October. Our patio is therefore only 10 months old.Secondly, as previously mentioned, we have had two professional landscapers to come and look at our patio. Both were horrified by the poor workmanship with one stating he has never seen anything like it in his working career. They have all stated that the patio needs to be ripped up and started over.We have contacted Allestree Building and Landscaping to ask for compensation but have heard nothing.We absolutely do not recommend this company. Be very wary and remember it is never a good sign that a company changes their business name regularly.

Aaron and George completely transformed our previously unlevel and weed infested garden into a fabulous place for our young family to spend their time. Great new slabs, and some artificial turf look fantastic and everything is level for our daughter. Even when the initial plan had to be changed, the guys came up with a great new option and it all looks fab. Thanks guys, it was a pleasure having you!

Aaron and George did a fantastic job of our patio, and were very friendly and professional. We are very pleased with the result. The job was very reasonably priced too.

We used Aaron to redo our fences and landscape our garden. He did a great job and we're very pleased with the results. Everything was done to a high quality and we really appreciated the attention paid to finishing touches such as adding gravel, cutting bricks to the right size and rounding off sharp edges. This made everything look even better than we had expected. I would highly recommended and use again.
